I decided to jump in as well.

• Applied latest beta AMD-OSX kernel patches from here
• Applied latest pre-release Acidanthera kexts from here
• Applied latest AMDRyzenCPUPowerManagement kexts from here
• Did not need to use -lilubetaall because latest (pre-release) Acidanthera kexts support Sequoia (thanks to @Lorys89)

Sequoia is installed on my Asus X670E Gene.

Intel WiFi not working yet. Will need to wait for Sequoia version of AirportItlwm. If you're unable to install updates from App Store, it may be because Ethernet port en0 has been zombified by the non-working WiFi driver. To remedy, simply type this in Terminal and reboot:

cd /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
sudo rm NetworkPreferences.plist

@CaseySJ awesomeness!. My Wi-Fi solution involves a 50ft Ethernet cable and a Netgear 3700XT wi-fi extender/access point. I can’t trick it into making iPhone mirroring work, but I have received texts and a phone call.

Heliport and itlwm work, as reported by @Lorys89 here, but the developer himself apparently has very little time to work on this.

I have ordered a Broadcom WiFi 6 module from AliExpress, but I don't know if it will work. It's cheap enough to experiment with, and because I have an OrangePi 5 Plus computer, I can always install it into that.

I’d be very interested in hearing your thoughts when it arrives. In Sequoia Beta 1 @Shaneee had a fix for Intel BT, but then it stopped again in Beta 2. I do have sound in all 3 betas using AppleACLU.kext 1.9.1, but only in the GenMachine with the 5700U, but not with the 4700G.

It's possible that some symbols changed for the BT kexts which stopped them working. Currently looking into AirportItlwm just now though.

@CaseySJ That Orange Pi Broadcom WiFi 6 card you linked looks to have a custom interface, I.e. not a standard M.2 E or A connector/interface. The Pins along the bottom seem to be reversed, with the short section on the lefthand side. Normally with an E &/or A M.2 card the short section of pins is on the righthand side.

I think that is why they state it won't work in the Orange Pi 5 Plus. All the WiFi/BT cards I have seen that are recommended for the Pi 5 Plus have standard M.2 E & A connectors.

Are you aware of a PCIe adapter that will work with this non standard Broadcom card?

You're quite right; the Orange Pi Wi-Fi 6 card is Key M that is meant for standard M.2 PCIe slots. Typical Wi-Fi models are either Key E or Key A/E.

Key M provides access to 4 PCIe lanes, but Keys A and E provides access to 2 lanes of PCIe, plus UART and USB buses for Bluetooth.

The Orange Pi card may be specific to the Orange Pi because it is not even recognized when installed into a PC motherboard.

Dumb question perhaps but are the beta patches backwards compatible with Sonoma? So in other words, could I future proof it for when Sequoia officially releases? Or best to wait until all quirks are ironed out (typing this out I think... yes )

Yes beta patches still work on all previously supported versions

The Beta Patches worked fine in macOS Sonoma for me.

I successfully installed Sequoia to to my Asus TUF X670E and Ryzen 7959X3D. However when I mount the EFI partitions to copy the EFI folder from the USB to the SSD, the mount efi window in Opencore configuration shows the mounted, but the don’t show up in the finder window. I’ve tried mounting them in terminal and using the mountefi application with the same result. They all report the partitions mounted but they don’t show up in finder so I can’t copy the efi folder. Any ideas?

Apparently this is a problem with the latest build of MacOS 15 (build 24A5309e). No matter what method I use to mount the EFI partitions, they won't show up in finder. Two different machines have done this. Build 24A5298h did not do this. It happens on machines with Intel or AMD CPUs. I hope someone smarter than me can figure it out!

I also tried disabling SIP. No change, still can’t see the EFI folders in finder.

The other thing to remember with the patches, as a general comment, is to make sure you update your CPU core numbers to the 'algrey - Force cpuid_cores_per_package' patches, as per: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/AMD/zen.html#kernel

That's caught me out a couple of times when updating the patch list (EDIT: and, unbelievably having posted that, again this morning when installing Sequoia!!).


EDIT: Huh - interesting. The script MountEFI-update doesn't work in 15 due to Apple changing to FSKit to handle FAT32 partitions (https://github.com/corpnewt/MountEFI/issues/28). Fortunately, you can get that functionality back through Mount-MS-DOSPartition (https://github.com/chris1111/Mount-MS-DOS-Partition).
