macOS Sequoia on AMD

Within a day the patches have been fixed to run the latest beta. Use at your own risk. It's beta software and may break.

Note: We don't support beta versions of macOS. Forum sections will be unlocked for Sequoia near the first release.

Okay, I'm using this kernel patch, but after the code runs, the progress bar freezes and I can't access the system.

Just like in the picture.

1) Enable verbose mode
2) disable 3rd party kexts: wifi, bluetooth, etc

Thanks for the Patches @Shaneee, successfully clean installed macOS Sequoia onto a second SSD in my 4700G build. Unfortunately the NootedRed.kext isn't compatible with Sequoia yet but I'm certain that will change soon. Just updated my patches, set SecureBoot to disabled and disabled any 3rd party kexts, (NootedRed, Itlwm, Bluetooth).

I neglected to mention I updated some kexts too:
  • AppleALC 1.9.0 > 1.9.1
  • lilu 1.6.7 > 1.6.8
  • RestrictEvents 1.1.3 > 1.1.4
  • VirtualSMC 1.3.2 > 1.3.3
  • I removed AMDTscSync and replaced it with the plug and play ForgedInvariant.kext
  • I also added '-lilubetaall' because it wouldn't boot without out it.

I've noticed a couple of visual changes in Sequoia which I like. The biggest change is for Calculator which has been given an iPhone make over.

Other visual changes can be found in Activity Monitor which has received some frosted glass transparency effects around the borders.

Well pretty much had it all working under beta 1 except bluetooth. So today I installed beta 2, now no blutooth, no wifi, and no sound! LOL, that' why it's called a beta!

Got wifi using heliport, still no sound or bluetooh.

Installed kexts:

Most settings work, from Sonoma.
Even the IGPU. (nootedred.kext)
The sound is a bit crackly.
And no Wifi. (but I think it will be fine by the time the final version arrives)

I have installed Sequoia Beta 1 & 2 on an AMD B550 and an old Intel Z87 system. Both systems work just fine with Sequoia Beta 2. Haswell i5 system is noticeably slower to respond than the AMD system, which I suppose is hardly surprising given the age difference between the two systems.

Screenshot 2024-06-29 at 21.46.14.png About this Mac (Sequoia Beta 2) from Haswell system.

Only issue I had was -lilubetaall wouldn't work for either setup.

I had to add -lilubeta, -vsmcbeta, -wegbeta, -alcbeta and -revbeta boot arguments to prevent a black screen when I should see the macOS login screen.

Screenshot 2024-06-29 at 21.45.34.png NVRAM > Add section from Haswell config.plist

No issues with Realtek 2.5GB Ethernet on either system.

Intel AX210 WiFi works in both systems using Itlwm.kext & Heliport app.

Intel BT worked for a short while in Beta 2 but has now stopped working in the Haswell system. This is probably due to changes I have made to the OC setup.

AFAIK OCLP isn't ready for use in Sequoia Beta 1 or 2. So getting a Broadcom WiFi/BT card working will need to be delayed till such time as there is a Sequoia compatible version of OCLP.

Only the ITLWM.kext works correctly in Sequoia, so no Handoff or Continuity available.

Hi all,

I updated to the latest patches and added -lilubetaall to my boot args, but when I want to boot the installer I get a kernel panic. Any ideas?IMG_2910.JPG

Screen image above shows an AMFI issue. Are you sure you have the OCLP boot arguments. config entries and kexts set correctly?
