Asus X670E Gene EFI -- Adaptable to Other X670, X670E, B650 and B650E Boards

I am considering purchasing Asus x670e gene.
Do I need to make any changes if I use this EFI with Risen 7 7700? And are all of Kexts's all necessary for gene?
I am currently using Intel and Amd is new to me.

This EFI can be used on Asus X670E Gene with Ryzen 7 7700. Please see Post 1 for instructions.

Hi Casey, just joined the forum coming from another one where you are famous too. Then I can compare your 2 Asus machines.
Thanks, I did not know you were Guru in many places. Maybe I still miss some of them :-)

Nice to see you here! We had a good time getting AM5 to work. :)

Hello.
My PC
  • MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI
  • Ryzen 9 7900X
  • G.SKILL Flare X5 DDR5 2x16GB (F5-6000J3636F16GX2-FX5)
  • Samsung 980 Pro 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe 1TB (MZ-V8P1T0BW)
I use https://github.com/ryanilano/hackintosh-asus-b650ef-amd and boot suspend error bluetooth.
I turned on and off the bluetooth controller does not help.
Tell me how to fix or where to find a solution.
Still, now the moment is only the built-in video card, isn't that the problem?
I want to buy RX 6600.

Yes, lack of a compatible graphics card is going to be an issue. There is some development for AMD iGPUs but its currently only for Ryzen 5xxx series and older CPUs. Get yourself that RX6600

I understand correctly that the process does not continue due to the lack of a card or not? I don't see any errors related to the video.

Just because you can't see the error doesn't mean that the problem. There could be more but without it completing the OS loading cycle there is no way to know.

It's written here

I understood this as, any card will work just without shaders, 3D and other
That is true, you have to disable the AMD iGPU to have it work with a supported AMD card, the iGPU by itself just will not work. Keep reading that section for clarification.
"And since these GPUs have no drivers even outside of Apple, we need some way to stop the unsupported GPU from being recognized in macOS. See the Disabling GPUs (opens new window)guide for more info on this."

Here a person starts with an iGPU - https://forum.amd-osx.com/threads/a...0-x670e-b650-and-b650e-boards.4160/post-28863

You misunderstand and it could be due to language differences. I'm not sure I can explain it better but will give it one more try so as to try and save you frustration.
He says in the post you linked it booted, just like yours does, but he never says it worked. When he added the 6600XT dGPU it stopped booting at all as I mentioned in my last post. The fix was to disable the iGPU either through an SSDT or bios.

Trust me that if it worked that would be huge news and there would be lots of examples of it on multiple sites, not just here. iGPUs on AMD have never worked until very recently and then only the older generation chips are supported and with caveats. iGPUs on Intel platforms suffer the same fate after 9th generation CPUs because Apple didn't use those chips and so never wrote drivers. 11th generation with device ID spoofing in some instances can function but without graphics acceleration, the display is laggy and very limited in definition and so not recommended.

You system will boot but when the OS goes to load there are no drivers for iGPU so display functionality ends with a black screen. There is no fix, and one is not anticipated soon.

Yes, I took his EFI macOS installed, but after starting the black screen (

Thank you so much CaseySJ. I appreciate for your hard work.

I assembled my PC with x670e gene components, But the game video playback is not smooth.
I upgraded from an RX6600XT to an RX6800, which improved the situation somewhat.
However, when I checked with GeekBench6, the OpenCL value was low at 23091( Metal 185222),
while the web average is around 230000-270000 ( Metal 310000).
Am I missing any settings?

Thank you for your comment. Shaneee fix pat has already confirmed.
The other pc z490m gaming x( rx5700xt ) OpenCL score is 65519, x670e gene( rx6800 ) is 23091.

Hi, @CaseySJ and others !
Just a buying advice. In Cambodia to find stuff is pretty difficult unless you drop huge amount of transportation and customs fees to Amazon and local authorities.
I can get a Gigabyte X670 GAMING X AX at 275$ locally.
I saw in your initial post that Gigabyte needs some adjustment. This is not a problem for me (hobby on this second machine) as long as you confirm that there is no obstacle to make it run properly with proper setup.
Would you confirm I can go ahead or Asus must definitely be the choice for some reason?
thanks for your help !

EDIT: Oups just saw this threat which could be useful !

Put Sapphire PCI-Ex Radeon RX 6600 Pulse 8GB integrated graphics turned off.
It got worse, after selecting the install icon, the monitor turns off after a short time.
Tell me where to look for the problem.

You need the agdpmod=pikera boot argument added. This EFI has that enabled

I do not understand, I was correct that the argument (agdpmod=pikera) was. Maybe the wrong EFI was flooded or it was not copied to the flash drive.
Thanks, I will check
