@mjstudyin

FYI, I’ve posted a new build guide and EFI folder that’s compatible with Sequoia and Tahoe (BIOS 3104):

Hi Leesureone and CaseySJ, thanks for the fast replies back and excellent suggestion to wipe the WD NVME using Windows DiskPart utility. I tried that but unfortunately it did not help fix the problem.

I was finally able to get the WD NVME to be detected and showing up in the USB installer Disk Utility by moving it to a different M2 port on my MSI X670E. I had originally installed it in the M2_3 port, so I moved it to the empty M2_2 port instead. The Samsung 990 Pro is in the M2_1 port closest to the CPU. A little bit of a pain since I had to open up the case and remove the RX6950 XT to access the M2 ports, but not too bad. After I got everything back together and booted up the Sonoma installer and disk utility, there it was finally, WD 2TB NVME right at the top of the drives list with the Samsung 990 right below.

I don’t want the Samsung 990 showing or even being mounted when I am in macOS so I am going to remove it using opencore EFI SSDT removal spoof or in device properties. From what I have been seeing in my NVME researching on this problem macOS does not play well with the Sammy NVME devices.

And thanks also CaseySJ for the new Sequoia and Tahoe build guide! Great work and I am sure that I will be using it a lot in the next few days and weeks as I am upgrading this Hackintosh to running macOS Tahoe!

@CaseySJ this is probably the problem that some users could have in Tahoe (i think it is related in some amd kernel patches not working well in some system (i repeat because for some people there are no problems)
i think problem is there with more complex system (more than one NVME and multiple pcie fullfilled

@fabiosun,

Does this problem happen in Sequoia as well, or only in Tahoe? Apple’s open source page has partial source code for Sequoia, but not yet for Tahoe.

It would also be helpful to post IOReg from both (a) working version of macOS and (b) non-working macOS.

System is perfect from Monterey to Sequoia
in tahoe i can install (and then) boot only disabling from motherboard bios my realtek 5gbit ethernet (which is unsupported from OSX but it doesnt create any problem in any OS i used also if it stays enabled in bios)
Tahoe is not stable at all and sometime it freezes after login

to have the hope to only have in ioreg i have to disable Realtek ethernet..but maybe in this way cant be useful as debug...
edit:
added realtek device picture in OSx Ventura
