CPU:
7950X
which settings were made in Opencore ?

excuse but I'm confused,
are there any news regarding the 7000 series GPUs working on a MAC/Hack?
Because if there isn't, for me those GPU's basically just don't exist :cautious:

With those prices, 7900 XT is DoA.
Makes zero sense to purchase it, based on plethora of testing published so far. Same physical size, almost the same pricing.

So XTX all the way. What I'm doubtful is will it ever work with macOS, even with spoofing.

But the 7900 XT is better than the 6950 XT and implements DisplayPort 2.1

Reviewers are comparing it to Nvidia RTX 4080, but that card doesn't exist for us in the Hackintosh world. Those who already have 6800, 6900 and 6950 cards can easily skip a generation.

I agree that AMD priced the 7900 XTX only $100 higher in order to heavily tempt consumers into buying the more expensive mode (i.e. upsell). This, however, is fairly common marketing practice. Apple is a master at it when they introduce a "cheap" base model and we later discover how low its specs are. And if we want just a little more memory or a little more SSD or a couple more cores, the upsell price is exorbitant compared to going market rates.

I was comparing 7900 XT and XTX - it's way too similar pricing. Based on shown performance so far, I think this should have been 7800 XT and costing ~800 USD at best. But then again, it's sold out everywhere so who am I to tell AMD what to do.

I am happy camper in the 6800/6900 XT park. Excellent performance for great second-hand prices. Just yesterday one 6900 XT reference was sold on eBay.de for 659 €. I also slept-over 😩 the end of auction for 6800 reference sold for €320 which is ridiculously good price.

AMD overpromised its performance, so it is likely they didn't get the drivers right in time and may still improve performance with newer drivers soon.
In some games it can match the 4090 in rasterization already.

If idle power consumption is nearly 100W, then we know something is wrong with the driver. So I agree we should wait for one or two driver updates.

Over at tony, someone apparently tried it and it does not work.

Drüben bei Tony hat jemand es bereits probiert jedoch ohne Erfolg.

@CaseySJ & @ExtremeXT can you take a quick look at the config... It's running well so far, I've now installed the Ryzen 9 7950X but find the performance a bit slow

@CaseySJ @ExtremeXT Hello everyone, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is slowly preparing for the year 2023.
For information on the Gigabyte X670E Master, there is a new Bios 8g today, I installed it. The data is in the appendix maybe it has improved to positive

What exactly do you mean by error 46? If it's macOS related, the MMIO whitelist probably needs to be updated.

@ExtremeXT
Yes, that may be the case, but Windows has to work.... I installed the previous one yesterday... so no problems.
now there is a new F8h again. but the same here if I restart it, whether it's Windows or Mac, makes no difference ... it doesn't start properly, it only says error code 46 on the mainboard

@ManuelB no hint from your motherboard manual
it is a reserved zone

@mariettosun Yes, thank you very much, I had already looked in the manual but found nothing direct.. I have now tested the bios versions again: the error only occurs with the bios 8g and 8h, I am now back to 8c, everything works there

@CaseySJ & @ExtremeXT Small question or statement since the last update, the network no longer works ... at least for me. has anyone else found this out?
