which settings were made in Opencore ?

Perfect.

Now do not change config.plist (we must keep UTBMap.kext turned off).
  1. Download this diagram and print it on paper. Your motherboard has 5 USB controllers, which I have labeled A, B, C, D, E.Gigabyte X670E Aorus Master Rear Port Map.png
  2. After printing this diagram, let's start with Column 1.
  3. Run IORegistryExplorer.
  4. Then connect a USB-C device to the PURPLE port in Column 1.
  5. Now scroll the IORegistryExplorer device tree until you find this USB-C device in one of the 5 USB controllers.
  6. For example, when I connect a Samsung USB 3 flash drive to one of my rear panel ports and look for it, I find it here: Screenshot 2022-11-17 at 11.54.27 AM.png
  7. Now I can identify it like this:
    1. USB controller D
    2. USB port name is POT3
  8. Now we label this port in the diagram. In the PURPLE box,
    1. Write down the USB controller (A, B, C, D, or E)
    2. Write down the port name
  9. Do this only for one USB Type-C device (Column 1, Purple box)
  10. Post a photo or screenshot of the diagram
  11. STOP

[BENUTZER=828] @CaseySJ[/BENUTZER] ist das richtig? Wenn das der Fall ist, gehe ich jeden durch und notiere es, dann schicke ich ein Bild von allem

Perfect. Just to double-check…is this a USB 3.x device?

Now let’s connect a USB 2 or USB 3 device to the yellow and blue ports in Column 1 and write down their (a) Controller Name (A - E), and (b) port name. Because these ports are black color, they will work with USB 2 devices and also with USB 3 devices (but they will run at USB 2 speed).

Please note that first we need to go through this procedure with USB 3 devices, and then again with USB 2 devices!!!

For USB 2 devices, it’s good to print another copy of the port diagram.

Good. The port name is PRT1 and it is a hub. That means probably both of the black ports will connect to PRT1. So we can write PRT1 for both of them.

Very good! :)

Was this diagram made with USB 3.0 devices? Column 1 yellow and blue are of course USB 2.0, so that's okay.

Was a USB 3 device used with all other ports?

If so, then now we need to do this:
  • Print another copy of the empty diagram
  • Now use a USB 2.0 flash disk and repeat the process for all ports except Column 1 yellow and blue

Two more questions:
  • What is the name of the BROWN port in Column 2?
  • In Column 3, are the YELLOW and BLUE ports the same name? POT5?

By the way, take your time. No rush. You can finish this tomorrow if it's getting late.

Noch eine Frage mit welchem Programm machen Sie immer die Beschriftung

I'm not sure I understand the question: "What program do I use to do the labeling?"
  • I used the macOS built-in screenshot editor and also Keynote to create the diagram

@CaseySJ Good morning....I checked everything again yesterday and couldn't think clearly anymore :) I have now only used USB2 in USB 2 and only 3 in USB 3 and in 3.2. = USB 3.1 because there was no one else there, I experimented a bit with the Keynote program .... but I think it looks much better and you can understand it better then, I'm curious to see how it goes

@ManuelB

The Keynote version looks good!

However, now we have to repeat the process using a USB 2 device. For example, if you have a USB keyboard, plug that keyboard into every USB Type A port in Columns 2, 3, and 4.

Then connect a USB 2 device into each Type C port. If you have an iPhone or iPad with lightning to USB Type C connector, you can use that. If you do not have any USB 2 devices with Type C connector, I can try to guess the ports or we can disable USB 2 on the Type C ports.

Also, what is the make and model of your computer’s case?

@CaseySJ it is in NZXT H7 Elite
That looks really good!!

We also have to map USB ports on front panel using both (a) USB 3 device and again with (b) USB 2 device. Now you see all the work that goes into setting up a Hackintosh! Yes it takes time, but it’s all worth it in the end.

In your diagram Column 1, Row 1 is labeled HX00, but I believe this is not the correct port name. The port name is located one level below XH00.
