Hi, im xxlifesucksxxx xD.

ive been trying to get a ryzentosh up and going for a week now and it just keeps going wrong everywhere.

specs:
ryzen 5 3600
msi b450 pro carbon
red devil 5700xt
16gb ram
onboard ethernet and wifi/bluetooth
various drives. 840 pro 128 for main windows os, 2tb 970 evo pro for games and installing mac on a wd blue 640gb.

so here is my hang ups. i can install Monterey 12. 4 but of course i cant get internet to work.

if i try to install the latest BigSur it always fails at the [eb exitbs:start]

im using offline installers for both. both are configed roughly the same.

Any advice? :(

Hello and Welcome. If that's where you're getting stuck then it's one or two things. First being that you've not setup the kernel patches for your 6 core CPU. Second being you've not enabled the ProvideCurrentCPUInfo Quirk in the config.

Hmmm. I have it set up the same for Monterey.

ProvideCurrentCPUInfo set to true

Patch 0 and 1 set to b806000 0000
Patch 2 is ba006000 0090

If the EFI folder can be provided, it is a good thing for competent people

ba006000 0090 is wrong for patch #2

It should be ba060000 0090

Notice the '6' is moved one place closer to the beginning, to match the other two patches.

The 2 pacth was just a typo. my bad i was on my phone replying.

here is my EFI folder.

Try this revised EFI folder in place of your current one.

I have added an essential SSDT.
Added some kexts
Cleaned up the config.plist, to remove unnecessary entries
Changed a few entries to match the requirements of the OC guide.
Added the OC GUI in place of the picker list.
Added a couple of new and essential Drivers.

Try this and see how you get on.

Same result. If I make a Monterey installer with that same config it boots up. Just not Big Sur. I’ve tried the offline installer and regular. Same thing

I have no idea why the EFI would work with Monterey but Big Sur not boot. It is normally the other way around.

Yea, that’s why I turned to here. Main problem with Monterey is my internet because unless I ordered a network card. :/.
