bootarg in this EFi are correct for a motherboard using USB audio, in a post above you said aboud Alcid=x parameter and this is not useful because usb audio does not need of AppleALC or AppleALCU ke

Thank you! Do you remember if you had thunderbolt / USB 4 enabled before the USB mapping?
If I recall it was enabled

Hi,

Thank you all for this information and hard work. I have an already installed opencore Big Sur. I'd like to use one of the posted EFIs and replace the existing one from my MacPro to my AM5 PC. I see most of the posts here talk about Ventura install, just wondering if these would work on Big Sur too.

Would that be possible?

Ryzen 9 7950x
Asus Rog Strix e670x f-gaming wifi
Crosshair 64gig 6000MHz ram
Samsung 980 Pro 1TB
Radeon RX 580 Nitro

Thank you in advance,
PrichA

Yes the EFI folders in this thread should work with Big Sur as well.

Asus Rog B650E-E gaming. Hackintosh working almost perfect with Sonoma

I had 2 problems before mapping the usb ports:

1 sleep did not work (wakes instantly)

2 After the PC wakes, the audio started to show distortion/crackling sound on my speaker

When I mapped USB, problem 1 was solved and the PC sleeps and wakes normally.
But problem 2 continues, I can't solve the audio issue.

So, without these problems, the Hackintosh is perfect.
Does anyone know why this happens?
If the PC doesn't sleep, everything works great

Sorry for my bad English

Does the distortion/crackling occur on every audio output (monitor audio, green Line Out jack, audio device connected to USB port, etc.)?

Yes Casey
Please backup existing USBMap.kext and try the modified version attached here. It fixes Port-Count in a couple of places. This may not affect the wake-from-sleep issue, but it's worth trying.

@CaseySJ have you had much success with Sonoma? Or should we stay away from it? ;)

Sonoma has been working very well, but we lose compatibility with our Broadcom WiFi cards. We can, however, use Intel WiFi.

Great to hear that! Did you make any specific changes to the EFI for Sonoma or is it the same as for Monterey/Venture?

You can use the same EFI for Monterey, Ventura & Sonoma.

Only the AirportItlwm.kext needs to be different for each version major of macOS. So you would need three separate versions of the kext, one for each macOS version, if you were to use the EFI to boot the last three versions of macOS. Each kext would need the MinKernel & MaxKernel entry edited, so only the kext required for each version would be injected by OpenCore when booting one of the three OS’s.

All Broadcom WiFi cards using the BCM94360 chip were dropped from Sonoma, not just the Fenvi cards.

If you want to continue to use a Broadcom card in Sonoma then you have to use the OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP) Root Patches, with all that entails.

Are all Broadcom wifi adapters not working on Somona or just the 3rd party ones (fenvi)?

Few years ago I purchased & still use BCM943602CDP from https://www.osxwifi.com/product/pc-...-11-a-b-g-n-ac-bluetooth-4-2-limited-edition/

Just interested to learn if anyone had any experience with those apple refurbed cards.

I should point out that use of the OCLP Root Patch prevents the use of APFS Replicator, which means Carbon Copy Cloner and SuperDuper are unable to make bootable backups.

@Amdar,

At the OpenCore boot menu we can press and release CMD-V to enable boot logs, then select the option to install macOS. Please try that and post a photo of the screen when the boot process freezes.

For your privacy, remove location (GPS) information from the photo before posting. One way of doing this is by dragging-and-dropping the photo to jimpl.com website.

I've used Carbon Copy Cloner in the past — but I remember they had some issues with creating bootable copies after the release of Big Sur / APFS & I have not used it since.

I still have a licence for it — is Carbon Copy Cloner a reliable bootable cloner again or just a backup tool? :)

I have 2 x 2TB in my Hackintosh — the second one is Windows but I am willing to just wipe it and use it as a bootable clone before doing any major upgrades.

Hello @PrichA,

Please try the attached config.plist.

Some questions:
  • Which WiFi/BT module are you using?
    • Broadcom BCM94360NG?
    • Fenvi FV-T919 or similar?
    • Intel WiFi/BT?
  • When you say "PCIe" does not work, what does that mean?
  • Regarding Thunderbolt/USB4, are you referring to Thunderbolt hot plug? Or Thunderbolt devices simply do not connect and work even when connected and powered on before boot?
Finally, please download and run IORegistryExplorer (from here) and post the IOReg file (File -> Save As...).
