Solved Tahoe Beta #3

Beta #3 installed successfully on these systems so far:

• Intel:
  • Asus ROG Strix Z690-I mini-ITX via Software Update
  • Gigabyte Z390 Designare via USB install disk (because I wanted to test the Beta 3 install disk)
  • Asus Z690 ProArt via Software Update
• AMD
  • Gigabyte B550 Vision D (AM4) via Software Update

Install failures:

• AMD
  • Asus X670E Gene (AM5) because:
    • USB install disk freezes at 17 Minutes Remaining
    • Software Update does not work likely due to an issue with RestrictEvents

WARNING:

• FileVault gets enabled by default
• Be sure to open System Settings -> Privacy and Security -> FileVault and turn it off (must wait until encryption is done, then turn it off and wait for decryption)
• Failure to do this means you may not be able use your login password on the next reboot

New default background is a photo of Lake Tahoe. Prior to login, the water will move...

Successful OTA update to beta 3. Strangely FileVault did not re enable on my machine. I forgot to disable it before rebooting after update and was ready to disable via Recovery but didn't need to

Got this sucker working also Installation coming from dev2 went like a charm.

Installed Beta #3 on the very troublesome Asus X670E Gene in a roundabout way:

• USB install disk does not work
• OTA does not work
• Running "Install macOS Tahoe" application from a running instance of Tahoe does not work

So the roundabout way is this:

• Install Tahoe Beta #3 using my Gigabyte Z390 Designare on an external NVMe SSD mounted in a USB enclosure
• When installation is done, shut down the Gigabyte Z390 Designare and move the USB enclosure to Asus X670E Gene
• Tahoe Beta #3 is fully installed in external NVMe, so it boots up just fine
• Use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the external NVMe to internal NVMe
• Reboot with internal NVMe, and voila!

Such a pain...

Remove bootarg and nvram string, and Check if processortype is set to 0

Restart and you'll see that it will work for you

Just tried the following, but unfortunately the Processor Name is still incorrect. This computer is being exceptionally difficult!

• Set ProcessorType to both 0 and 3841 and rebooted, but processor name did not change (still shows Intel Xeon W)
• Using RestrictEvents 1.1.4 from your previous reply
• Commented out NVRAM parameters revcpu and revcpuname
• Commented out boot argument revpatch

Still no joy for me with beta 3, followed @Shaneee advice, updated patches and kexts and still can't get past prohibited symbol. Help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope!.

If you’re seeing the Prohibited Sign, it most likely means USB ports need to be mapped with CorpNewt’s latest USBMap utility:

I went through this for every one of my Hackintoshes (6 of them). It becomes a fairly painless procedure, but the documentation (README.md) is not as clear as it should be…

P.S. I’m really beginning to love the new Liquid Glass look of Tahoe. I wasn’t enthralled with it in the first beta, but with Beta 3 it’s beginning to shine.

Don't use comment #, just remove them, reboot and reset nvram

Even though my config.plist has NVRAM -> Delete to remove both revcpu and revcpuname, I nevertheless deleted the NVRAM entries completely. Also removed the boot argument and rebooted the system, then cleared NVRAM from OpenCore boot menu.

But still the Processor Name remains unchanged (with ProcessorType = 0 or 3841). This is with RestrictEvents 1.1.4 built on June 16.

The order of keys; this is how I did it:

• Press D key
• Press Q key
• Press P key
• Press A key
• Press K key

It has become fairly easy indeed.

Anyone here have any success getting Beta3 to not lockup on an A320M Chipset? I have beta2 running great on the following
A320M / Ryzen 3 2200g / iGPU (vega8) / 8gb System Ram (2gb set for VRAM)
If I try fresh install of beta3 everything goes find till a lockup when selecting region while in set up.
If I do an update from inside Tahoe, everything goes great, and i can boot into Beta3 but it locks up shortly after....

To the best of my knowledge all the .kexts are current, and i had updated opencore to the 1.0.5 from a day or so ago, but made no difference.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
