Here's the build and the EFI I am working with: https://github.com/radianttap/EFI-Asus-ROG-Strix-B550-I
Hardware is all OK, I have Windows 10 installed and works with no issues.
BIOS is latest, 2803.
AMD RX6800 reference should be working out of the box.

I am trying with Monterey 12.6 installer. It boots up fine, shows language picker and then switches to grey screen and stays there, nothing happens.
Tried various things I could find online including:
  • NVMefix kext, makes no difference
  • -radvesa boot arg (which gave me black screen and no language picker)
  • nvram reset (there were mentions of this being issues in betas so tried it anyway, no difference)

Currently EFI has most .kexts disabled, the stuff that are needed are enabled.
Next I may look into SSDTs but I am not using anything strange, I think.

Any ideas are welcome.

Try to include AppleMCEReporterDisabler.kext in your build - it should resolve the issue.

PSA: stuck on grey screen can be due to faulty / damaged installer USB. This was my case and I was not aware it manifests itself like that.

Continuing with install now.
