Solved Please help: Install Catalina on AMD fx8350

Hello Community,

I am new here, and i would like to get help if someone is reading this.
I am trying to install Catalina on my old PC. I already did hackintoshing on my old Asus laptop with intel cpu, which was a success. I managed to install Sequouia.
Now i thought i try with my old PC.
Specs are:
CPU: AMD FX 8350
Motherboard: Asrock 990fx extreme4
GPU: Sapphire r9 270x
16 gb ram

I made my EFI with the guide from Dortania, and some Google and Youtube help. After weeks of trying i get to the boot picker, but then is Game Over. Maybe the problem is my GPU or the EFI or both, i don`t know. I have the Vanilla patches in my config, i dont know wath i did wrong. If someone can, i would appreciate help.

Have a look at this thread, it is for a similar system. Bit old the OC used but it should work in Catalina, with the correct UEFI > APFS > MinDate and MinVersion entries in the config.plist.

I have been playing around with my old AMD FX 8350 system (again) and decided to see if I could get it running macOS Big Sur.

I used OpenCore 0.7.6 and followed the Dortania AMD Bulldozer guide when creating the EFI folder.

I created my macOS Big Sur USB installer using the following CreateInstallMedia Terminal command:
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Big\ Sur.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled

Installation was slow, with many pauses and some initial Kernel Panics during the various installation stages. However, the end result was Big Sur...

Morning. I tried the EFI, I succeeded to get to the recovery. Unfortunately I don’t have internet because of my lan controller. It is broadcom, not realtek… I found a kext Fakepciid for it. I hope it will work. I give it a try today.
