hello everyone o/
been hackintoshing for a few days, its been fun and i got a working sonoma install

unfortunately i have a big problem which makes the system really annoying to use - my mouse moves perfectly fine, but sometimes it'll drop inputs when i want to release it
doesnt matter if im dragging a window or selecting something on the desktop, it won't release. same thing with the dock - sometimes clicking on an app drags it. my only solution to this has been to click a few times to make the dragging stop (linked video demonstrates this)

im using the latest version of sonoma, opencore release (not debug) 1.0.8, my smbios is the iMacPro1,1 & my specs can be seen in my signature
i've tried lots of stuff, but nothing here works:
  • changing the polling rate in windows - does nothing in macos, it defaults back to 1000hz. as far as im aware, there's no way for me to change the polling rate of my mouse in macos
  • using different ports on the back of my motherboard (plugging the mouse either into a usb 2.0 port or into a usb 3.2 gen 1 port doesn't change anything)
  • using xhciportlimit without usbmap.kext and vice versa
  • disabling global c-states & enabling xhci hand-off in bios
  • talking to ai - always gets to "try an office mouse or get a dedicated gpu"
  • safe boot doesn't work since i dont have a dedicated gpu, only my igpu
  • checked the macos console app while doing the dragging test on the terminal - keeps spamming with "-[TUINSCursorUIController scheduleUpdateCursorPosition]"
i've provided a video of my experience & my efi folder. is there a solution to this that doesn't involve me purchasing anything and keeping my setup as it is? any help is appreciated (:

(P.S. my mouse isn't broken, it works perfectly fine in windows)

Hello @f4bby, overall your EFI looks okay but I suggest you turn on DummyPowerManagement in the Kernel/ Emulate section of your config.plist. Many times without it the system will freeze or even reboot. Another suggestion is to rework your USBMap.kext. Your version establishes 3 different controllers, which is probably fine, but overall only looks like it identifies 4 USB ports and 2 USB 3 ports within the first two controllers. The last controller XHC1 has no ports identified at all which is odd and suspect.

MSI says your board has the following which should all be correctly identified in your kext
Front USB3.2 ports x 1(Gen 1, Type C), 2(Gen 1, Type A)
Rear USB3.2 ports x 4(Gen 1, Type A)
Front USB2 Ports x 4
Rear USB2 Ports x 2
