Hello all,

Does any of you experience stuttering and generally slow performance with rendering in browsers? I tried Google Earth 3D view in Google Chrome and Safari and it's terrible. Hardware graphics acceleration is "ON" when available. My RX6800XT seems to perform just okay with it's metal3 elsewhere, I tried some native Steam games.

Is your PSU powerful enough to handle the RX 6800 XT and the AMD CPU in your system? 560W seems low for what your signature says is in your build.

If you run a benchmark test, such as cinebench r23 or Geekbench 6 (GPU Metal test) on your system, how do these compare to other similar systems?

If you put your system components in to a PSU calculator what does it recommend as the Wattage minimum?

Yes it is, it's high efficiency and really high quality made PSU, even with it's low wattage of 560W it handles RX6800XT amazingly well - the rest of my system is really low on consumption so the GPU is realistically it's only thing to handle. It went many hours of gaming under Windows (same configuration), never failed - so I guess Google Earth shouldn't bother the system. I can't remember the score but I did run Geekbench (GPU Metal test) under MacOS and it was all okay.

Have you tried using Firefox instead of Chrome? A number of users have had issues with Chrome on their AMD Hacks.

I tried Firefox earlier and it was the same story but I managed to solve it. The reason for this to happen is that MacOS is simply taking Intel CPU being there for granted and forcing / prioritizing integrated GPU to render browser content (logical, actually). The way to fix this on Chrome Browser is this:

Type or copy / paste "chrome://flags/" in URL and from dropdown on the right side enable "Override software rendering list" which will override defaults and force the GPU acceleration on systems where discrete GPU wasn't expected by the system. Enable the "GPU rasterization" too - it will use GPU to rasterize the web content.

This worked for me, it feels really snappy now :)

Aren’t you using MacPro7,1 SMBIOS? That is the normal/expected SMBIOS for an AMD Ryzen Desktop Hack.

Only if you are using an iMac SMBIOS would the OS expect an IGPU to be present and used.

Yeah, I am using iMac 19,1 SMBIOS :)
