    Kernel Panic during Ventura Installation

Add the RestrictEvents kext. If you have an 8+ core CPU, set PlatformInfo -> Generic -> ProcessorType to 3841. Otherwise, set it to 1537.

Cant get past Ventura 13.0 Install

Yeah I know it doesn't boot, but what actually happens on the screen? Where does it get stuck? Ideally, you'd upload a video of the boot process or a photo of it right before it reboots or something like that.

How to test stability in our ryzentosh?

30 minutes of multi-core Cinebenching seems fine to me. This isn't necessary, but if you want to try something just to try something, you could do Prime95's torture test with small FFTs.

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

I had a nearly identical issue trying to build KCs a week or so ago, except it cited a different kext. You're not alone :p I never figured out how to fix it, I'd been at it for so long at that point that I just called it a night.

Threadripper, RX 6900 XT, Ventura 13.0 installation fail

Do you mean that macOS boots fully and then reboots? Or that it reboots at some point in the boot process?

Cant get past Ventura 13.0 Install

It would help if you show what happens when you boot macOS Ventura. "It will not boot" isn't much to go off of. :P

sometimes the network disconnect after upgraded to Ventura

Yeah, AppleIGB is correct for I211. There are multiple versions (at least 3 at this point) of AppleIGB, so maybe link to one specifically or say which one you're attaching. There's Shaneee's, donatengit's fork, and about two days ago someone made a new one that supposedly solves all of the...

Yeah, you'd probably have to disable SIP and replace it in /S/L/E

Tutorial How to build XNU from source

I guess the next step is to replace IOPCIFamily on a 13.0 installation with the open source build and see if it still boots.

Tutorial How to build XNU from source

I wonder if just installing the XNU headers would have done it 😆

Tutorial How to build XNU from source

That's awesome! Congrats mate! Did you have to do anything to link your IOPCIFamily environment to the XNU environment at all?

Tutorial How to build XNU from source

Oh, right! The Python issue happened to me too, I fixed it in the same way. I'll add it to the post. Kind of interesting that you had to edit dtrace and I didn't, though I was compiling the version bundled with macOS 11.6 (since I intended to compile IOPCIFamily from 11.6), so something probably...

Tutorial How to build XNU from source

@CaseySJ I got some bad news. An Apple employee replied to my forum post about this a week or so ago. I kind of forgot that I posted it. They're saying that the product types used by IOPCIFamily are only part of Apple's internal macOS SDK. https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/718755

I didn't actually. That being said, I never ended up trying. I wish you good luck!

Tutorial How to build XNU from source

It isn't, I was trying to compile IOPCIFamily like 2 weeks ago, same as you, and went down a rabbit hole with this crap. I ended up using multiple sources (including that one) and had to troubleshoot a bit, this is what ended up working :p
