@Lorys89 Is it fixed by applying the AM5 bugfixes on the DSDT mentioned here ?: https://macos86.it/topic/6542-bug-fix-for-am5-new-firmware-motherboards-dsdt-fix/page/2/
I tried to patch my DSDT like mentioned and had no errors in it afterward, but I didn't notice any difference. And I had no...
@CaseySJ
Hey Casey,
I am using the B650M Riptide and have an ASRock TB4 AIC.
TB Hotplug is working with the Maple Ridge SSDT, but as soon as I enable it whenever I shutdown/restart I end in a boot loop and need to ClearCMOS.
Did you ever got TB Hotplug fully working across Shutdowns/Restarts...
Yeah, I have found this option yesterday on my own and it worked pretty well. Now sleeps works like I want.
I also noticed that now my sleep issue under Windows is also fixed. Most of the time my laptop is connected to my LG OLED via HDMI. And before switching to S3 I had the issue, that my LG...
Some of the WEG-bootargs also work with NootedRed.kext. Like -wegnoegpu and agdpmod=pikera.
I know because it works on my 6800M too. It is not visible anymore with -wegnoegpu.
@Edhawk No, the external Display via HDMI is taking over when Windows/macOS are on the login screen. So after BIOS and any early-OS loading.
So on Windows earliest I see is the blue loading screen where you also see when Updates are installed.
And also the white verbose text of macOS is only...
@Edhawk Mate, thank you sooo much for pointing me to that tool. This is so cool. I love tools like this. Really, thank you. How do you find such things?
It is like having a full featured BIOS now.
It was so easy and now I have 8GB VRAM.
I have also found some options to disable iGPU and use...
I think it is your SSDT-CPUR.aml.
You can try my EFI and add -wegnoegpu.
It is from my 5900HX/6800M. I think our laptops are pretty similar from basic specs.
I had the same thoughts @Edhawk. I think it is just not possible to drive the 6800M without the MUX.
Do you know which device properties I need to set the VRAM via DeviceProperties? Or is this something I can only do in BIOS? Because my BIOS doesn't have an option to change VRAM.
Do the...
Update: @Edhawk Tried your EFI, thanks again for your efforts. But same result. Boot log looks exactly the same. Ends in verbose mode with no GPU accleration. Just less overhead in the EFI folder itself.
I think it has issues to connect to the AMD Driver. I get a lot of errors regarding...
@Edhawk Thanks for your detailled analysis. I will try your suggestions. The reason why I disabled most of the ACPI and Kexts you mentioned is, that they are not required to boot macOS, and when something is not working I try to minimize side-effects from things I don`t need to run macOS. This...
@Edhawk Yes, I have tried all variants of disable via SSDT and bootargs. -wegnoigpu when using NootRX and -wegnoegpu when using NootedRed. And I have no DeviceProperties. Also tried inject different device-ids, but that didn't work.
Maybe some background info: When I turn my laptop on, I have...
Nope. Nothing to enable/disable iGPU or dGPU. Do you have any idea why I don't get NootRX running? As soon as I enable it instead of NootedRed, I get a restart where it usually switches to the Login screen.
I guess due to the lack of a Mux, I need to have iGPU and dGPU enabled. But that would...
No, I can't disable iGPU nor change anything GPU related in BIOS.
wegnoegpu removes the 6800M from IOREG and all other places where I normally see it. But I am not 100% if it kills the power draw as well.
Various sources say, that it doesn't have a MUX.
Do you mean by disabling the iGPU or the dGPU I will loose internal display support?
I have tried your advises, but the 6800M still appears.
But I have noticed, that the iGPU and dGPU are defined in SSDTs and not the DSDT.
But how can I...
Hi guys,
I have successfully installed Sonoma on my Asus Strix G15 AMD Advantage Edition (5900HX/6800M).
I also have the iGPU running using NootedRed, though only with 512MB.
But as soon as I enable NootRX.kext instead of NootedRed.kext, it wont start anymore. It hangs where it usually...
I couldn't get Sonoma updating on my B650M Riptide/ 7800X3D.
Found the reason: My Macintosh SSD (Intel 660p) is not detected by the installer. Installing on a USB SSD works.
NVMEFIX might help, but currently is not supported by Sonoma as I have read. And I never needed NVMEFIX for this SSD...
@ExtremeXT Congrats. Can you share your EFI? I have tried to Hackintosh my AMD-based Laptop ROG Strip G15 Advantage Edition. But never succeeded. Always hang in the IOACPI boot section. No matter what I tried.
Hello guys,
some may know me from my Hackintosh HowTo Videos and my Github Repo.
I was using Intel Hackintoshs in the past, but now switched to AMD.
I think I can finally share my EFI here. Currently I have no issues to fix and I would call this EFI pretty solid.
Last thing I had to solve...
