Yeah, I was surprised too; thought it must be a one-off thing so ordered 3 few months ago. But here they are, still the same price.

In Europe, 7950X is down from 889€ to 659 which is fantastic for a new product. It goes to show how AM5 is not going well, for now, entirely due to motherboard/RAM pricing.

What motherboard you plan to use..? I really wonder how much different X670 from X570. Looking to be among the first to Ryzentosh-it? :) (There seem to be plenty of stock, unless I'm misreading mindfactory statuses. Thus not sure why would anyone go on eBay.)

I'm using RX 6800 in one and 6900XT in another build and using MacPro7,1 for both. In both cases pikera was the right choice thus I doubt that's the issue here.

PSA: stuck on grey screen can be due to faulty / damaged installer USB. This was my case and I was not aware it manifests itself like that. Continuing with install now.

I no longer have this board – it died, most likely due to too many forced turn-offs. From the stuff you posted, it seems the USB controller wakes up the machine. Are you using bluetooth mouse maybe..? At the end, I had highly specific USB map kext and had no issues with waking up. My last EFI...

Added WEG 1.5.5, with boot argument agdpmod=pikera and all is good now.

Thanks for the nudge to try it - I've been running it with pikera argument for half a day, across few sleep/wake cycles and it holds up.

Bleh, worked until it went to sleep then started lagging again. This is playing with me 😅 Anw, back to non-WEG, which works.
