Well it's here folks. macOS Big Sur on AMD. Thanks to Algrey for the base patches and NoOne for the Big Sur updates.

Absolutely no support will be given for this for the time being as it's the very first beta and is understandably buggy and unstable.

Note: Installer does not yet run on Hackintoshes (both Intel and AMD), one has to install on a real Mac or VM and then transfer the installation. Latest nightly of OpenCore is ready for Big Sur now.

Also, it looks like Catalina 10.15.5 cannot read APFS format of Big Sur, you cannot restore the image to a single volume from Catalina.

Could you please Share efi and steps? please!

Tried it, restored image to SSD and booting stuck at this.

Updated OC to 0.6 nightly with all modules and added latest AMD Ryzen patches.

Any solution ?

Did you add the NVRAM entries?
ADD -> 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 -> booter-fileset-kernel: (data) 00
DELETE -> C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 -> booter-fileset-kernel

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I added them. Maybe another mistake I made ?

Hello, so we cannot restore the image of Big Sur! Is there an easy alternative?

As I've read probably the easiest way is to give VMware access to the disk and install Big Sur from there. Did not have time to try it myself yet.

Right, been found a Big Sur dd file, expanded to 120 GB. But, somehow found not worthy!

Again we won't give any support for this. It's mainly just a proof of concept. Full support will be given when Apple release it.

I tried to Install on Parallel Desktop
But It says

You cannot run a macOS virtual machine on your Mac.

Your Mac has the AMD main processor installed, while you can run macOS virtual machines on Intel-based computers only.

Please Guide.

VirtualBox and VMware Fusion are running on AMD... you can install Big Sur with VMware Fusion and a raw disk image. Bur you cannot install on to the same disk that runs your host MacOs as VMware needs to unmount the disk.

I appreciate the proof of concept. As a long time (18 years) OS X/macOS user (my Hackintosh replaced a 2011 mac mini) who hasn't used an iPhone since the 3Gs I find the new interface pretty... ehrm, jarring. It's so... harsh on the eyes. Not sure I'll even take the plunge to Big Sur come this fall.

We will have to wait a bit longer ...
Only the Zen AMD 17h processors are supported so far, not the older 15h_16h architecture. The patches need to be updated, check https://github.com/AMD-OSX/AMD_Vanilla/tree/opencore
