You had missed the core_count kernel patch for Monterey. Should work now.

Remove the SSDT-CPUR.aml file from your config. This is for B550 boards and most likely causing the issue. @stotes

Ahh ok didn't know, topic title is B450. In that case keep it there. The issue is MSI on Monterey.

Sorry I should have made a new topic. I upgraded to the B550 a few weeks ago and had no issues until I upgraded the CPU yesterday.
Strange that it was working with the 5600 and not the 5900x

With the same MSI board on Monterey? That is strange. Did you try to clear the NVRAM after updating the CPU and config changes?

Yes the same board, had no issues before.

I have tried clearing the NVRAM.
I just tried without the CPUR AML file, no luck just gets stuck here

I just remapped the USBPorts and will try again with the CPURAML

Is Above4G still set in the BIOS? Also try removing the vsmcgen=1 arg.

It wasn't enabled which is odd because it worked before without Above4G running 5600.
Removing vsmcgen=1 failed as soon as it gets through ACPI.

With Above4G enabled, ResizeBar disabled, vsmcgen=1 it gets further however fails after

Looks like its a PCI issue. The same issue a lot of MSI owners are facing. The extra PCI lanes look to be the issue here unfortunately. You can test this by booting Big Sur which should work without issue on the 5900X.

That makes sense... and also saddens me.

Would my 6600xt work in Big Sur?

Ahh unfortuantly not no. Support was first added in 12.1 I'm afraid.

That's a bummer.
Do you think there is any chance the B550 MSI board's issue with PCIE lanes will be resolved with patches? Or should I start looking for an X570 motherboard to replace this one.

It's hard to say. Some ACPI methods were attempted but nothing was succesfull. It's the reason I swapped my MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus for the ASUS ROG Strix X570-F board.

Thanks for the reply and continued assistance. I appreciate it.

Perhaps I should get one of them. I'd really like ethernet working oob.
Does Ethernet work OOB with the ASUS ROG Strix X570-F board?

Not on Monterey no. The kext that was used (SmallTree) stopped working. However in the latest beta it is recognised without any kexts but crashes the system. It may work in a future update but I bought a Type-C to LAN adapter. There's also the X570-E from Asus. That board has a 2.5GB NIC which works as far as I'm aware. See AudioGod's build on that board here, https://forum.amd-osx.com/index.php...ig-sur-monterey-beta-opencore-0-7-4-efi.1685/
The latest EFI for that topic is on the last few pages.
