Have you remembered to disable the Serial,Port in the Bios?

SuperIO is another name for the Serial Port.

I've gone through the BIOS and there is no option for Serial Port, i've searched online and there is mention of AMT which i have tried disabling and i am still stuck on the same screen.

You have made sure that these options, if available are all set correctly?

Disable

  • Fast Boot
  • Secure Boot
  • Serial/COM Port
  • Parallel Port
  • Compatibility Support Module (CSM) (Must be off in most cases, GPU errors/stalls like gIO are common when this option is enabled)
  • IOMMU
Enable
  • Above 4G Decoding (This must be on)
  • If you can't find the option then add npci=0x3000 to boot-args. Do not have both this option and npci enabled at the same time.
  • EHCI/XHCI Hand-off
  • OS type: Windows 8.1/10 UEFI Mode (some motherboards may require "Other OS" instead)
  • SATA Mode: AHCI

Post a copy of the EFI you are currently using to boot the system.

I have edited the attached EFI to better suit running Monterey on your Skylake system.

This includes creating some custom SSDTs, removing a few kexts and adding an ACPI patch. I used the DSDT.aml you posted previously to generate the new SSDTs and patches. Copy attached in the Results folder below.

Add your SMBIOS data to the config.plist. This can be iMac17,1 the expected Skylake SMBIOS, or one of the others.

I've tried the EFI with iMac17,1 and Macmini8,1 and still no luck. both smbios get stuck on the same screen

Use the EFI folder from post #6 or #13, both worked but with n9 graphics acceleration, which should be easy to fix once you are running macOS. As I can’t see what is causing the KP with the latest EFI.

Not sure whats going on but i cant get those two EFI's to load macOS either. i've posted another screenshot incase it helps. ive gone through the bios more than once and no joy. Weird...

Have you added any drives to the system, since the initial EFI I created/edited for you?

yes. i swapped a 2.5 ssd to a NVMe.

OK, that explains the NVMe calls in the screenshot you posted.

Which NVME drive are you using?

You may need to add NVMeFix.kext to your /EFI/OC/Kexts folder and config.plist, as the Installer doesn't appear to like the NVMe drive.

NVMeFix.kext is already in the kext folder and enabled in the config.plist

i can go back to the SSD if it helps

That might be the best option, for now.

What make and model NVMe drive did you install?

western digital black. Gen3x4 256GB

Is it an WD Black SN750 or SN750 SE drive? As those Western Digital drives are known to be problematic in some systems, when used as a boot drive for macOS.

Yes it is a WD Black SN750. I have removed it.

The WD SN750 should be ok as a Windows or Linux boot drive, if you are thinking of dual booting with this system.

It is the only NVMe drive from that period that didn’t use the Western Digital NVMe controller, it uses a Phison controller which are known to be problematic when used as macOS drives.
