AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphic
Hello, finally after a few months from break with trying to hackintosh my laptop, I'm back.

Before I try (suffer from it) again, I needed to confirm if my laptop can even boot macOS. The macOS that I want to install is macOS Monterey (12.7.4). And it will be installed on the 1TB NVMe on another partition (180GB) as it already have data on it.

Here is the laptop spec,

Laptop Model : ASUS ROG Strix G17 G713QM 2021
CPU : AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphics
Integrated Graphics : AMD Radeon Vega
Dedicated Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop / Mobile (I know I need to disable it and only use iGPU)
Network 1 : MediaTek Wi-Fi 6 MT7921 Wireless LAN Card
Network 2 : Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller (The only source of internet for now)
Bluetooth : MediaTek MT7921
Audio : Realtek Audio (ALC285)
RAM : 32GB KINGSTON HX432S20IB/16 (2 x 16GB)
SSD 1 : SAMSUNG 1TB M.2 NVMe
SSD 2 : SAMSUNG SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB
Current OS: Windows 10 Pro

On paper I would say yes your laptop is compatible, with a few caveats and the usual comment that your journey may not be straight or without bumps and stoppages along the way.
  1. Nvidia dGPU needs to be disabled.
    1. You already know this but it needs to be stated.
  2. MediaTek WiFi & Bluetooth won't work in macOS.
    1. This should be replaced with a compatible natively supported Broadcom WiFi/BT card.
    2. Alternative is to use a compatible Intel WiFi/BT card, but you lose most of the Apple WiFi/BT features by doing so.
  3. Samsung NVMe isn't the best option for macOS, due to problems with firmware, NVMe controller and Trim not working correctly in macOS.
    1. A Western Digital or SanDisk NVMe drive would be a better option, as these are known to work well in macOS, i.e. SN770 or SN850X.
The way you plan to install macOS isn't good. Using the drive with Data on it already will make formatting it to allow Monterey to be installed, is not going to be easy. As you need a 200mb EFI (FAT32) partition at the very start ion the drive, so it will boot correctly with OpenCore.

I would recommend backing up the data on the drive, formatting the whole drive when installing macOS, and then making a new partition for your Data on the macOS drive. Which can be done fairly easily in macOS using Disk Utility.

If you buy a Western Digital drive to replace the Samsung drive, then the Samsung could be used in an external enclosure to contain your Data. Just an option for you to consider.

Thank you for the reply. I've already done the EFI partition on the 1TB drive on my previous try. I don't need wifi since my laptop is wired to ethernet, so the Realtek is the only one I need (for now). And you are right with the Samsung NVMe, will search for a SanDisk or WD M.2. By the way, you have any recommendation for any model for a replacement SSD in particular?

This time I will not just jumping guns and get mad at myself for being an idiot and not read guides properly like a few months ago. (LOL)

Once again, thanks for taking your time to reply to me.

I would recommend the WD SN770 as your system won’t make use of a faster drive, due to chipset & controller limitations. A 1TB drive in the UK goes for around £55, 2TB for around £90.

That being the case I think it would be best to disable the WiFi and Bluetooth devices in the Bios if you really don’t need them.

Okay, so I tried to create the bootable USB (5 times already) and on the first fresh boot from the USB installer to the recovery it's stuck. I just let it be for a few hours and it's still not going to the recovery page.

I don't even know what I'm looking for in the txt file to see what's gone wrong with the EFI folder.

I've attach both EFI and opencore debug file from the USB installer.
