USB boots fine to BigSur installation. After installation, it reboots and gets the error above. I've done a number of installs, including Catalina upgrade to BigSur, but thisis the first time i've ran into this issue.

Code:
 \\macOS Install Data\\Locked Files\\BootKernelExtensions.kc.j137ap.im4m

You are trying to boot an update partition.

How can I get it out of the loop. The OpenCore menu never comes up.
Turn off the power switch. Hold down to start
button 10 sec. to degauss the caps.

Use reset CMOS switch if you have it.

turn power switch back on and start holding the delete key to enter bios (other key may need to be used, F12, Esc. Etc.

in bios check the boot 1 option set to the USB.

Reboot

  1. Used CMOS button on back
  2. re-configured BIOS
  3. OpenCore Menu now shows up
  4. Three Options: macInstaller, Install MacOSx (External), setup
  5. Chose 2nd option (Install MacOSX (external))
  6. Re-installed Big Sur (~10min left)
  7. Sytem Reboots
  8. Same 3 options like before, this time let default (macInstaller) execute
  9. Same Boot Loop like before.
