AMD mini PC Gen Machine Ren7000

The DW1560 WiFi/BT card (Broadcom BCM94352Z DW1560 M.2) only cost around £9-10 on eBay in the UK.

Hi Edhawk,
Is this the latest known Wi-Fi card installed on Intel Macs?
I've also seen FENVIs, are they good?
Is this the card that allows you to use Airdrop?

No, the Dell DW1560 isn’t a native Apple WiFi/BT card. But it does use a compatible Broadcom chip. Apple didn’t use any M.2 cards in their systems.

The Fenvi Broadcom cards are based on native Apple Broadcom cards so previously worked Out of the box (OOB) with less work on the users side. Since macOS Sonoma Apple dropped native support for these Broadcom cards, so you need to use OpenCore Legacy Patcher to get the WiFi working. The Bluetooth connection still works natively OOB.

Yes, these Fenvi cards and the Dell DW1560 provide all the Apple Continuity and Handoff features including AirDrop. Although the Dell card isn’t the best, it was one that I found readily available for a reasonable price.

Here is a link to the Wireless Buyers Guide for you to read, as it contains details of other compatible Broadcom cards.

If you are thinking of replacing the Intel and Realtek WiFi/BT cards in your two Hacks, then the M.2 cards would be a direct replacement. For the larger desktop system you could use a PCIe based card and simply disable the Intel card in the Bios. Saves having to remove the motherboard from the case and the heatsink/shroud from the motherboard to access the built in M.2 card.
