I was wondering about the whole MacPro1,1 thing. Why is it that most of us are using that? If our systems are being seen as say for example, MacPro 2017 i5. That would never have been a MacPro1,1 so should't we be using something later?
Thanks. I think that is where I read about the serial number thing. I have GenSMBIOS I also have an Apple user id from when I had my iMac 27, which is still on my account. I also have an iPhone XS on there.
So I generate a bunch of serials and then...do I simply keep trying different ones in...
I have just managed to get Wifi & Bluetooth working on my Gigabyte B450 I Aorus Pro WiFi but I still cannot get iMessage working. I think I remember reading somewhere that this is down to the serial number used in the config.plist? Is that correct? I have tried quite a few serial numbers but...
They were not so expensive in the past but with bitcoin mining, covid and shortage of supply, prices have shot up. Even used they are often well over £300.
Luckily I have everything working now. No update to Big Sur yet but I guess it can wait. I m now running the 3600 CPU in the B450 I board...
I have the 2600 but it is 2nd gen. Apparently, this motherboard is not compatible with it.

EDIT! I mixed up which one was compatible with what. The B450 is compatible with the 3600 CPU. It was the 2600 that was not compatible...
No, I still got the black screen with the Apple logo.
For one reason or another, this just doesn't seem to work. However thanks to another member of the forum, AudioGod, I now have wifi and Bluetooth working on my B450 board. And that was the aim of doing all of this. The downside is I spent a...
Ok so I actually got the Bluetooth and Wifi working on my B450 I Pro WiFi. Thanks for your help with that AudioGod :) I had to use Heliport for the wifi though but that's fine. Speeds are actually as good if not better than when I was connected via Ethernet. The only thing that doesn't work is...
It boots into Windows 10 just fine. So I don't think this is a motherboard issue. I updated my XFX 7870 with a new bios so it is now UEFI compatible. I can now disable CSM so that issue is sorted. However on booting from the drive with your EFI I still only get the black screen with the Apple...
Thanks. Not exactly "budget" though. Either of those cards bought here in the UK would cost more than my complete Hackintosh. Even were they available. They are hard to get hold of. But in any case, there is no way I am paying £500-£600 for a graphics card!
I think I may need to update my graphics card in order to use my new Gigabyte A520M DS3H motherboard. At the moment the bios won't allow me to disable CSM so I cannot boot into Catalina or do a Big Sur install.
My current graphics card is an XFX 7870 2GB. It works with Catalina on the B450 I...
I am starting to think the graphics card may be the source of the problem. I have been reading around various other forums and it keeps coming back to the graphics card. I can't be sure that is the problem. Also as I posted in another thread I now have an extra problem in that I cannot see the...
As some of you will know, I have been trying to get Wifi and Bluetooth working on my B450 I Pro Wifi board. In order to do this, I need to add some files to the EFI and update the config.plist however, on mounting the EFI there is no Boot or OC folders within it. I don't understand how this can...
Ok but if there was no UEFI support for my 7870 wouldn't CSM enable itself in the bios? In which case I would not be able to boot into Catalina, which is what I am using at the moment.
The 7870 could possibly be the reason I cannot boot using the A520 motherboard. I have already spent a fair...
