    Wi-Fi speed test: Intel AX200 vs BCM94360NG

I expected AirDrop, Handoff and other Continuity features to not work with OpenIntelWireless. I could live without those features. But for two days now, Messages and FaceTime refuse to sign in. iCloud works but these two — which are essential for me on the desktop — do not. This is such a bummer.

    Wi-Fi speed test: Intel AX200 vs BCM94360NG

That's quite some investigation, impressive. Sadly, none of those is the issue here. I just tested, simply disabling Airportitlwm.kext in the config.plist and sleep works, as well as wake. Thus it's 100% something in the kext.

    Wi-Fi speed test: Intel AX200 vs BCM94360NG

Do you have issues with sleep in Sonoma, when using Airportitlwm.kext? This build I have worked flawlessly in Ventura, sleep / wake were perfect, with 94360NG. Now with AX200 and OpenIntelWireless, choosing Sleep from the Apple menu does nothing except turns the display off. No bad...

    Wi-Fi speed test: Intel AX200 vs BCM94360NG

What are the changes here from official alpha..? This file seems to be from Sep, while 2.3.0-alpha is Oct 18. Thus nothing to gain by trying, I guess.

    Wi-Fi speed test: Intel AX200 vs BCM94360NG

Broadcom Wi-Fi driver fixing leads to root-patching macOS Sonoma and keeping it that way so the downgraded frameworks/kexts can be loaded. I really don't like running macOS in that state thus I put together a small test build, with ASUS ROG Strix B550-I board which has Intel AX200 card. I...

macOS v14 Sonoma and Boardcom BCM94360 problem

Did you go through with this..? Any experience to share? I read the linked post but for me — any solution that disables SIP or normal macOS behavior (like OTA updates) is not actual solution.

Has Apple really fixed DisplayPort 1.4 DSC support in Sonoma?

Couldn't wait until the weekend... It freaking works! The whole thing, 144Hz and even variable refresh rate option is there (although I haven't really tested it) 3 years later, they finally fixed it. This is glorious. I'll have to see about fixing the Wi-Fi with 94360NG card but man...wow.

Has Apple really fixed DisplayPort 1.4 DSC support in Sonoma?

Huh, never actually tried making a separate volume. Will read-up and do a test over the weekend, thanks.

Has Apple really fixed DisplayPort 1.4 DSC support in Sonoma?

I just noticed this update to a very old thread about broken DSC in macOS. I pretty much gave up on this ever being fixed and I am now shocked. :) Can anyone confirm that 4K 144Hz HDR is actually available on an Ryzentosh using DisplayPort 1.4 DSC, in Sonoma? If it works, I would be very...

    Xcode 15 on Ventura 13.5.2

Not a fresh install of macOS, just installed new Xcode 15 and thus on first start of the iPhone 15 Pro Simulator, it acted completely strange. Just starting the simulator, before the iOS home screen appears, took several minutes. Something was seriously stuck in that process. It never managed to...

    Xcode 15 on Ventura 13.5.2

Hm, it seems it's working now. Whatever it did in on first install / run in the background made the simulator non responsive. It seems to start and work as it should right now, let's hope it stays that way.

    Xcode 15 on Ventura 13.5.2

Has anyone tried this combo? Xcode 15 RC has just come out and I tried to run it on my 5900X / 6900 XT build (which otherwise works great). Simulator barely manages to start up, installing a simple app (Landmarks, from SwiftUI tutorials) starts super slow, but tapping around chokes up big...

Super low gain with Deity V-Mic D4

I just bought Deity V-Mic D4 to use with Sony ZV-E10 camera. It has hybrid output USB-C port so you can connect it with Mac/PC as well so I am testing how that works on my Ryzentosh. It appears as input device but its input volume level is super low. I have to setup +5dB gain on the mic itself...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

I have 4 Hackintosh builds, so yeah, I feel you— I would love to be able to use better hardware in them. Especially a more modern WiFi/Bt stack. But I don't expect that to happen. I honestly don't see any business sense for Apple to create drivers for any new AMD GPU. I thought there is a...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

Apple does not care about Hackintosh. Never has, never will. Otherwise they could destroy it in one easy stroke, simply by refusing iCloud usage on non-recognized serial numbers. All those numbers we use, that selfsolve.apple.com checkcoverage.apple.com does not recognise — poof and Hackintosh...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

I've been away so maybe this is discussed already. I am pretty sure that those compute units are meant to replace Afterburner cards that are option in Intel Mac Pro. As in — dedicated compute units for scientific and encoding/decoding work. I would be very surprised this would be general...

    Solved Sleep issues on B550

This is new to me; you're saying that all chassis ports which are connected to motherboard headers (USB 2 or 19/20-pin USB 3 headers) should be marked as 255 connector type?

    Various X86PlatformPlugin errors in log

That makes sense. Looking at ACPI on Gigabyte B550I BIOS F16e, I see ACPI table (attached) that contains code similar to the mentioned post on InsanelyMac. There's also this in IOReg, which I assume is set as some kind of fallback. Wish I had time to learn how XCPM works and what it is...

    When will Apple deprecate kexts?

We can dream such sweet, sweet dreams. I did not check but I feel that apart from memory top end, 7950X has better performance than any Intel Xeon in current Mac Pro, in just about anything. It's on par or faster with M1 Ultra in multicore. But that would mean Apple supporting a whole stack of...
