Do you have a "real" Mac or at least a Virtual Machine with macOS?
Creating a bootable USB stick on Windows is complicated and I have not tried it yet.
On a Mac you need to prepare the USB stick like this:
- Start Disk Utility, set "View" to "Show All Devices", so that the USB stick is visible...
There should be at least some more messages. My gut feeling is that something went wrong in step 6), so that the OpenCore bootloader has nothing to boot from.
Unfortunately there is no way to do that. VMware provides the guest OS with a software emulated graphics card that is just sufficient to display a desktop.
As far as I know, macOS support in VMWare ESXi was introduced primarily to virtualise macOS servers (for which you don't need fancy graphics...
The 128 MB limit for macOS seems to be hard coded in vmware. Many people have tried to circumvent this without success and have always ended up back at 128 MB. You may have more luck with VirtualBox, where you can set a larger limit. However, macOS runs less "smoothly" on VirtualBox.
This is strange. I prepared a boot stick with your EFI, and it boots up just fine to the installer menu on my device. I also tried it with a "do not ever use these" Samsung 980 installed, also no problem booting to the install menu.
You could replace the OpenCore files with the "debug" version...
There are issues with some NVMe drives, especially Samsung, Micron and Hynix. I also have replaced the RTL8852BE WLAN card with an Intel AX200 card. You could try without the AirportItlwm, IntelBTPatcher, IntelBluetoothFirmware and BlueToolFixup.kext. And finally you may want to double check the...
Here is a korean review of the exact same device in the exact same packaging but with a different brand name. Only the sticker on the back is slightly different. An ID number is printed on the tested mainboard, my mainboard also has the same number: "RC-D E522514". This leads to a "Guangzhou Rui...
Thank you for the hint - with 6 cores set and "1537"as the processor type, the processor will now show as "1,8 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5" instead as "1,8 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon W".
I had left it at the default value "0" for "automatic detection". After reading numerous guides, I'm still not sure...
Yes of course you are right, probably wishful thinking on my side... I will correct it asap. Somehow the second part of my post disappeared, so I will have to post it again.
7.) Prepare the EFI partition
Use the MountEFI tool to mount the hidden EFI partition on your "Install macOS Ventura" USB drive. The empty EFI partition will appear on the desktop.
Download OpenCore. There is a folder "X64" inside which contains the folder "EFI". Copy the entire "EFI" folder to...
(will also work with Sonoma 14.4, but without WLAN support)
I could not resist and ordered one of those €250 mini PCs with a Ryzen 5 5600H on my favourite Chinese trading platform. It seems that there are a lot of similar systems with different names and 5500U / 5600H / 5700U processors, and I...
I managed to install Ventura while I wait for the AX200 card. So far no obvious problems. The Phison NVMe was detected and the installation went smooth.
This small machine achieves a Cinebench score of 6017 points and a Geekbench multicore score of 5232 points - not overwhelming, but also not...
Hi community,
I recently noticed these mini PCs on my favorite Chinese trading platform and finally decided to try one out.
My choice fell on a "Firebat MN56" with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H, 16 GB RAM, a 512 GB SSD and pre-installed Windows 11 Pro for about 250 € including import taxes.
The most...
