Tahoe not working on Ryzen 5 3500u

So currently i have a successful install of macOS Ventura 13.7.8 on my ThinkPad T495s with these specifications:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U w/ Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx
RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400MHz
SSD: 256GB NVMe
Wifi card: Intel Wireless AC 9260
iGPU: AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics

My current working efi build is mostly 'inspired' by this repo: https://github.com/PersistentCloud/Thinkpad-T495-Hackintosh

but when i try to upgrade to tahoe i simply get a kernel panic after reboot and trying to get into the installer assistant phase

Things i've tried:
Updating nootedred to a nightly build 0.9.0
Regenerating smbios to macbookpro 15,2

Any ideas to what i should change further to get tahoe working?

Sequoia was released in 2024, not 2025, so support runs to September 2027. Tahoe has support for two more years, until September 2028.

You're indeed a saviour! I was so looking deperately looking for this string to get on my Tahoe hackintosh journey on my ThinkPad T495 with the exact same

As you rightly said, we shouldn't do everything just because we can do it. I might as well settle with Sequoia. Having said that, my minimum requirement is 16.4 and above... Do you have a road map for me?

Thank you for the tips! I got Tahoe installed by disabling multiple kexts, including NootedRed, while leaving some SMC and input-device kexts enabled. However, with NootedRed disabled, the last phase of the installation was super laggy, even my mouse was lagging! But after enduring it, I finally got into the desktop, then rebooted to re-enable NootedRed.

And… the performance suffers. This was kind of expected due to the old CPU and poor cooling of this laptop, so I think I’ll end this journey at Sequoia, since it’s still usable and supported for two more years.

Hi There! I can't thank you enough for initiating this discussion. I too have the same configuration on my T495 (with just 512GB SSD as the only difference). Could you please share both the final working EFI folders - Sequoia as well as that of the Tahoe...? It'll be a life saving for me! Many, many thanks in advance!
