My FX-6300 hackintosh can boot Sonoma 14.2 beta3 & Ventura 13.6.3 by legacy OpenCore 0.9.5 with ProvideCurrentCpuInfo quirk enabled without red screen panic or blank screen issue now after its GPU RX-560 replaced by R9 270 and config.plist modified.

My config-OC-M5A.plist is attached for your reference.

HI,
Would you please share the guide you followed to get your FX6300 working with Ventura & Sonoma? I am very new to OpenCore and feel a bit over-whelmed. I have successfully followed this guide (which has all the hard work already done) to get Sonoma & Ventura running on AMD 3700X, but would rather have my VMs on a secondary PC that runs FX6300.

Following the same guide on the FX6300 results in "The firmware encountered an unexpected exception. The virtual machine cannot boot." FYI - I have installed and booted MacOS up to Monterey on the FX6300 but, again, would prefer to have Ventura and/or Sonoma on it.

Thanks!

@QCherry Which motherboard are you using with your FX 8320E?

If it has a UEFI bios you might be better served using one of the later EFI's , post #28, from the thread linked below.

I have Asrock 970 extreme 3 2.0. (have UEFI )

You don’t want to use a Legacy OpenCore setup, if you have a UEFI Bios.

The Bios screenshots in the linked thread might help too.

Hi. I have an almost identical system with you (Gigabyte 990XA-UD3, FX-6300 CPU and Radeon RX590 GPU) and similar problems. How did you manage to make Monterey work by using R9 270 GPU. I bought a Radeon R9 270X second hand and installed it, but it's not recognized by Big Sur. Ii does not have GPU acceleration and it shows Graphics card as just noname 7MB graphics without acceleration. Didi you use SSDT-EC-AMD.aml for faking a graphics card ID? And how can I get this SSDT-EC-AMD.aml? Or other kexts and flags you may have used? Thanks
