I am using an EFI that successfully boots Sequoia on a ASUS Strix B850-I with a Ryzen 9950X. I am trying to use the same EFI on an Asus TUF B850M with a Ryzen 9900X. I have edited the kernel patches for a 12 core CPU vs 16 cores. However, it abruptly stops during boot. I have verified that I am using the same BIOS settings but still no joy. I've attached a screenshot of where it stops along with a copy of my EFI. TIA for any help.

You are not using the latest version of the AMD Kernel patches, so booting Sequoia won't work.

The current set of AMD Kernel patches contains 25 x patches. The Kernel patches in your config.plist contains 25 x patches, but 3 x patches are not specific to an AMD system, 1 x RTC and 2 x Aquantia 10G NIC patches.

The number of SSDT's, drivers, tools and kexts in your setup that are not used, not required and are zipped is a joke.
  • You need to remove any SSDT's you are not using plus all the zipped files.
  • You need to reduce the number of Drivers and Tools in the respective folders, to those you might actually use.
  • You need to update a few of the essential kexts,
  • You need tor remove a few unused kexts and add others that are required.
The screenshot below shows how I would populate the EFI folder for your Ryzen 9 9900X / Asus B850 / RX 6950 XT / 10G Aquantia NIC system.

Try the EFI folder attached, it has been configured as the screenshot above. Give it a try and see how it works, or not.

Same result every time. I’m stumped, never encountered this before. There seems to be other folks having the same issue but I can’t find a consistent solution. Thanks for your effort.

Exactly the same result, that’s surprising.

Can you post a photo of the verbose text on your display when the system kernel panics. Make sure you capture the whole screen.

Have you checked that the bios is set correctly for macOS to run on your computer?

Here are some screen shots of the screen after freezing. I’ve checked bios settings multiple times. They’re the same as on my Strix B850-I.

Your screenshot shows a number of ACPI Errors. See the screen grab below.

ACPI Errors.png

Check which SSDT contains these errors and either edit or remove it.

Where did you get the Mmio Whitelist entries in your config.plist? Were these generated from booting the ASUS board?

The Gigabyte and ASUS bios may not be configured in the same way, sure as hell won’t be set out the same.
