Good morning everyone, I know it’s a bit late, but it’s finally here: virtualised macOS without GPU passthrough but with graphics acceleration, thanks to the REIMS vGPU experiment on this GitHub repository:

It’s still in the alpha phase; it works from macOS Big Sur up to Tahoe.
I’ve tested Sonoma on a Linux host with a 2080 Ti. It intercepts the guest’s Metal calls and translates them into the host’s Vulkan, utilising the AppleParavirtGPU.kext, which is natively present from Big Sur onwards…
The translation engine in this QEMU adaptation is still slow, but it shows great promise. The interesting thing is that it also works with ARM, so we could potentially have ARM-based Hackintoshes with graphics acceleration.
