Hello. I've been trying to install macOS on my PC for a year. This is my first time using Opencore though. I followed step by step the Dortania guide, but when I'm trying to boot from my USB all I get is a black screen. I already tried the "solving" methods on Dortania but nothing worked for me.
AMD FX 6300
NVIDIA GTX 950 (this is why I'm sticking to High Sierra)
ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0
12gb RAM HyperX Fury

Make sure you're using the DEBUG version of OpenCore and Target is set to 67, try booting and send the log it creates.

Is the Bios for your 970 series motherboard UEFI or Legacy?

If it is a Legacy bios, then you need to use the OpenCore > Utilities > LegacyBoot > BootInstall_X64.tool to create a pre-OC boot file, which will be placed alongside your EFI folder on the USB installer. This Boot file will enable your Legacy (non-UEFI) system to boot to the OpenCore Picker List or GUI boot screen.

Your OC setup is missing the following:
  • SSDT-EC.aml
  • XLNCUSBFix.kext
Replacement kext and Driver.
  • Replace AppleALC.kext with VoodooHDA.kext
  • Replace HfsPlus.efi with LegacyHfsPlus.efi
Your config.plist needs the following changes:
  • Misc > Security > AllowSetDefault - False to True
  • Misc > Security > SecureBootModel - Default to Disabled
  • Use MacPro6,1 in place of iMac1,1 SMBIOS/PlatformInfo with your Old FX system and Nvidia dGPU
See if making these changes helps.

Hi, It's UEFI. And I also tried this method.

I now see something when i boot from sd, the exact same things written in this log.

Okay @sabaci,

I've had a look at your EFI and build and created an EFI based on Gabriel Luchina's EFI for AMD FX processors build.

This will be running on the latest OC 0.8.4 and I've already set everything you need to get it running including your SMBIOS details,
core count and enabling the Nvidia card. The kexts and SSDT are confirmed to be those used on another Catalina build with FX 6300
I found elsewhere. So just replace your existing EFI with this one, it should work.
