Change agdpmod=ignore to agdpmod=pikera, as that us the boot argument used to prevent black screen issues with Navi GPUs.

Try using both boot arguments.

You shouldn’t need agdpmod=ignore with your B550 system, but it may be helping.

No I am not confused, I just rushed the reply. Saw A520 but wrote B550. Doh!

Still shouldn’t need agdpmod=ignore boot argument for your system no matter which macOS version you use.

haha, no worries, i fixed it tho, i remade my EFI i changed to macpro 7,1 and it works perfectly, only audio doesnt work. its alive!
my boot args was -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 alcid=1 agdpmod=pikera unfairgva=1 and it worked

Your MSI A520-A Pro motherboard uses either the Realtek ALC892 or ALC897 codec. You will need to check this in Windows or Linux to confirm which audio codec is in use.

AppleALC.kext includes a number of layout ID's that work with these codecs.

Unfortunately there isn't a custom layout-id for your MSI motherboard, so you will probably need to use a generic ID, which may not include all the audio options available on your system. Layout's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 7 tend to be non specific audio configurations. All the higher numbered ID's will be custom audio configs.

Link to AppleALC Supported Codecs table.

what open core options did you check to create a macpro 7,1? just wanting to double check as I tried this and am not sure I did it right.

Have a look over at MacRumors, they may have more info about keeping your MacPro5,1 alive with the latest macOS releases. The threads below and others might hold the answers you need.
