new install - black screen

I've decided to reinstall a fresh copy of monterey. I previously had a working big sur install.

I've followed the guide, just like always. checked shanee, and Law_ri's posts.. everything seems correct.

I'm having an issue after selecting the usb installer in opencore. I see some verbose, then black screen, then reboot.

Any help is appreciated.


R5 2600x
x470 F Rox Strix
5600 XT (sapphire pulse)
16gb 3200mhz corsair
lots of drives (cant even get into installer, this isn't the issue)

latest opencore package, kexts, patches etc..

OpenCore log isn't going to show anything unless it's an OpenCore loading issue. Your issue is with macOS after the boot loader. Upload your full EFI folder and I'll take a look.

sorry to bring this post back to life, but what did you change in the config.plist to make it work? I have a 6900 XT and I am getting the same issue. Boots verbose fine and then seems like it's going into the installer but then I get a black screen (no video output at all) and a reboot.

I have agdpmod=pikera in my boot-args already.
