Anyone tried updating to macOS Tahoe 26.5 directly from settings? I am running 26.4 and it is pretty good but I am tempted to try. I already updated OC to 1.0.8 and all my kexts are at the latest versions. I have plenty of backups, TimeMachine, efi folder for replacing from Ubuntu plus a full Rescuezilla backup of both partitions.

Yes, I have updated a few of my AMD Hacks to Tahoe 26.5, using the Software Update tool, without any issues.

Just be wary about the installation process wanting to apply FileVault encryption to your macOS drive as part of the end process.

Also don’t sign in to your Apple iCloud during the installation, select to skip this option, as you will still be signed in if you were signed in before the update began.

Updating OpenCore to 1.0.8 and all the kexts with OCAT gave me a few days of trouble. My linux installation disapeard from open core menu and I couldn't get it to work not even as a manual entry, I had to revert to using OpenLinuxBoot.efi and ext4_x64.efi version from 1.0.5 and it just worked. Also the Realtek newer kext kept disconnecting the internet. I hat to set the speed negotiating to manual 1000 and disable EEE. Damn, these hacks are a lot of trouble. 26.5 won't show up in settings at update. Any idea on how to update?

Use Corpnewt’s gibmacOS script to download the latest version from the Apple servers.
