Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3, Sonoma

Pasted the EFI where on the USB stick?
  1. Alongside the macOS installation app?
  2. Or in the EFI Partition, after first mounting the EFI partition?
If you are wondering which is correct, the second location is where your EFI folder should be placed.

Do you have the option to create a liveUSB with Linux?
I followed the guide and did the macRecovery command
then copied the EFI and pasteed it in my USB stick and then changed the bios setting and then i still could not see the boot option

Have you followed the Disk Management method for creating a bootable macOS installation USB, i.e. the guide linked below:

# Disk Management Method

DISKPART> format fs=fat32 quick

0 percent completed

Virtual Disk Service error:
The volume size is too big.

Is your bios set to boot Legacy or UEFI?
Do you have CSM disabled in the bios?

I think the efi is fine, the problem continues to be the installer. Do you have the possibility of making an installer from a Mac? and have a USB only with the boot efi?

Hi! I just registered after finding this thread. So happy if it's possible. I have a lenovo ideapad 3 with a ryzen 7 and I've been searching if there were some option to install osx on it for ages. I don't know if with the 4800 will work or if it only works on the 5800.
I have an installation USB that I used to install osx on an intel 7 desktop pc some time ago. Will it work, or it's better to make a new one? Thanks!

It will work with the Ryzen 7 4800 and Integrated AMD graphics. Using NootedRed.kext.

Thanks Edhawk! I was just thinking about that. I'll clon my usb to another one and change the EFI. I'll follow the install guide, it remembers me the one that I follow the last time so I hope it will be no problem on this side

Hi, after some attempts with various results as kernel panics, hangings... I decided to give a try to the EFI posted in this thread. It works till a point where the screen goes black and nothing more happens. I'm trying this efi with Big Sur, could it be the problem and I have to get a Ventura installer?

No, the EFI should work in Big Sur, as well as it does in Monterey and Ventura.

At which point is the screen going black? Some more information would be helpful.
