Hi everyone, i'm really new at this. I wanna build a hackintosh with my actual PC configuration and i would like to know if it's compatible. Also, ir anyone can give me some guidance about what version of OS install and how i really appreciate.
AMD Ryzen 1700x
Asus prime b350-plus
ASRock Radeon RX 550
32GB DDR4 3200MHZ
The only query I would have is whether your RX 550 contained a Lexa or Baffin chip. Graphics cards containing a Lexa chip are not natively supported in macOS, any version.
If your RX 550 contains a Lexa chip, which I think it does. Then you will need to add a custom SSDT to your OpenCore setup. This will be required to Spoof the device ID for your graphics card, so macOS sees it as one containing a Baffin chip. The guide to create the custom SSDT is linked below.
The other main components listed above are compatible with macOS up to and including the latest release of macOS Sequoia.
When Starting out the first thing you need to do is read, read, read again and then follow the Dortania Getting Started OpenCore guide. This will show you how to download and configure the OpenCore EFI for your system. This can be done in Windows, Linux or macOS.
Finding and adding the correct kexts for your motherboard is really important. So reading the Gathering Files section is a must. You may need to use Device Manager in Windows to confirm which devices are present on your motherboard.
Then you need to do the same with the OC Ryzen guide, as this tells you how to edit the OpenCore Sample.plist and create your config.plist.
You need to add the latest version of the AMD Kernel Patches to the OC config.plist, replacing the existing Intel patches. You need to edit the first 4 x patches to match the number of CPU cores in your Ryzen 1700x (8-cores). This is explained in the Kernel section of the Ryzen guide.
