I have z97 asrock extreme4 motherboard
Intel i5-4690k cpu 3.5ghz
Nvidia GT 1030 SC 2GB

 
If you use the Nvidia GPU then you are limited to running macOS High Sierra. As the Nvidia GTX 1030 requires the Nvidia Web Drivers. The last working version of the Nvidia Web Drivers was released for High Sierra 10.13.6.

If you disable the Nvidia GPU in macOS and just use the Intel HD4600 IGPU, this would allow you to install any of the current versions from Mountain Lion up to and including Monterey.

Alternatively, if you have an old Kepler series Nvidia GPU, such as a GTX 680, GTX 770 or GTX780 then you can still use those cards (and others) to run macOS Big Sur.
