CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x AM4
GPU:nvidia geforce GTX1080 8gb
motherboard:Asrog b450 steel legend

Hello @SpringCat Unfortunately your GPU is going to limit your ability to run macOS and your CPU does not have graphics capability.. If you are running Big Sur it will be without Graphics Acceleration which is a very poor user experience. Your best option would be to buy a supported AMD graphics card to go further.

As mentioned above the Nvidia cards aren't supported anymore. For an out of the box expierance you'd need a supported AMD GPU.

Saying that however, you could patch your system using the OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP) to enable Nvidia support. This has it's downsides though like requiring a repatch after every system update.

That's a cheaper way to go for sure. Personally I rarely recommend OCLP, not that it isn't a valid and excellent utility, only because so many users struggle to get it setup for what ever reason.
