Hi there,

Recently I've switched to a new 1440p 27' monitor (ViewSonic VX2728).

I use that monitor both on my real MacBook Pro M4 2024 (connected through HDMI port) and my Hackintosh (connected through DP port)

On both i'm using BetterDisplay with HiDPi feature enabled and 90% res. (2304x1296) and i can notice on the real Mac the text is much less blurry, looks sharp and detailed compared when using on the Hackintosh, also the color reproduction is a little different

Why that happens? Is possible to fix it?

Thanks!

Check which display settings are enabled for the (extended) display when connected to the Mac and then with the display is connected to your AMD Hack.

Are they using the same settings in System Settings > Displays tab, specifically are they using the same ‘Colour profile’?
If not then try setting the Hack to use the profile the Mac uses.

Try using the same cable, if possible, when connecting both systems to the display, as the quality of the cable can also make a difference to how the display works.

See if either of these suggestions makes any difference.

I use 8K DP cables to connect my dual Dell UltraSharp displays, even though the displays only work at 2560x1440. As these were a better quality cable compared to the old DP cables I owned & used. Bought them from Amazon during their Black Friday sale, so they didn’t cost the earth.
