I have a MSI MPG X570S Carbon Max WiFi mobo, Ryzen 9 5900X cpu + Gigabyte RX 6800 XT GAMING OC gpu since a view months now. System flies like a rocket now!
The EFI I provided is set for a 6-core CPU. Your new R 95900X is a 12-core CPU. So the AMD patches in the config.plist previously provided are wrong for your system.
The EFI attached below is set for an X570 MoBo, 12-core CPU & RX6800 dGPU
For future reference:
You need to update your user signature to your include your new system. You also need to inform people if you change your system, when asking for help.
Can you provide a photo of any Verbose text, showing the kernel panic? Assuming the system KP's early and you aren't just seeing a blank screen. So we have a least a chance of finding a solution.
Have you made any changes to the EFI-2 provided in post #5?
If yes, which elements have you changed?
You still haven't updated the system details in your signature.
Hi Edhawk, nothing is changed in the efi.
Now I try to look for the verbose text file if I can find it. Signature is updated by the way. Thanks for reminding me
Edhawk, I see a folder called 'Update' in my system but don't know what file to look for. Maybe a .log file? I zipped the files and attached these in this post.
Please find enclosed the updated EFI for your system based upon my working Gigabyte B550 Vision D with 5900X & RX6800 build. I've made quite a number of changes to the EFI, and it should boot Ventura.
I believe one of the reasons why your system wasn't booting properly was because of missing certain ACPI files such as the HPET and serial bus controller (SBUS-MCHC) plus some others. Also the order of your kext loadout was erratic (you hadn't placed the most important ones such as Lilu, Whatevergreen, VirtualSMC and AppleALC up top) as it affects how your system boots. In addition the Realtek ALC-4080 audio controller only works with the AppleALCU and not AppleALC kext, so I've added that in the EFI for you also.
Hi Middleman, thanks for your effort but it won’t boot unfortunately :-( After I replaced the EFI file, I did a cold restart of the pc and all I see is the boot logo with the text in the upper left screen: OC: Driver HfsPlus.efi at 0 cannot be found! Halting on critical error
By the way, do I have to choose one of the options on the right side first? And should SIP (System Integrity Protection I mean) be turned on or off for installing an update?
I noticed something... At the bottom of the first screenshot it says macOS Ventura 13,5 install data 25/07/2023 at 14.03 (the list is enormous somehow). But the second screenshot shows macOS Ventura 13.2.1. Now I'm confused and mostly disappointed in myself because I can't understand this...
Okay. With regards to the installations were you running Ventura public betas? That’s probably the reason why you could get it up to 13.5. 13.5 has only just been released officially, so you should be able to install it now.
As for SIP, it depends. Most of the time we don’t need to disable it but some setups may need it.
