Hi,

I'm trying to install either Tahoe 26.1 or 26.2, using a iMac20,1 and iMac20,2 config.plist that I've made - I've tried the following using both iMac20,1 and iMac20,2, using both Tahoe 26.1 and 26.2 installers, but with no luck :(

Hardware is:
MSI B450i Gaming AC Plus, 5700X, 16GB 3200, RX 6800.

Onboard Audio is disabled in the BIOS as I don't use it (just HDMI/DP out to the monitor and audio out to an amp)
Onboard Ethernet is disabled in the BIOS - I will use the onboard WiFi with Heliport/ITLWM.

I've mapped my USB ports freshly using USBToolBox, with 'Bind Companions' enabled and used 'Native Class Bindings' as per instructed in this video:

I've also tried without 'Bind Comapinions' enabled and with and without 'Native Class Bindings', but I don't really notice any difference, progress wise :(

Am I supposed to start with a USB Map file or UTB Map file, before converting with USBMapInjectorEdit, then pressing U?
I'm of the understanding this saves the changed automatically on the file?

I've got the latest OpenCore, and using the following up to date kexts, which are:
AppleMCEReporterDisabler
Lilu
UTBMap
VirtualSMC
WhateverGreen

ACPI:
SSDT-EC-USBX-DESKTOP.aml - I did try using SSDT-EC-DESKTOP.aml which worked fine in Sequoia 15.7.3 - but I have tried both to see if I was using the wrong one with Tahoe?

I have made sure to change the core count in all 4 places.

Drivers:
OpenHFSPlus renamed to HFSPlus
OpenRuntime

ResizeAppleGpuBars 0
ResizeGpuBars = -1

I am using -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 agdpmod=pikera as I have a RX 6800, should I remove agdpmod=pikera?

I've tried disabling SecureBoot in Security, and nothing changed :(

Does it matter that I have an NVME plugged in as well as a SATA drive?

The NVME usually needs a quirk (I think it's called that) enabled in config.plist to stop it showing as external, which I've tried applying, and again it made no difference in this process.

Do I need DevirtualiseMmio,SecureBoot enabled/disabled in the config.plist?

When trying with USB Native Class with NO companions, I get this:

Is there something obvious that I've missed?
I'm trying to install Tahoe 26.1 - Is this known to work or should I try 26.2?

I've just redone the 26.2 USB installer, using a fresh iMac20,1 config.plist.
I used USB Map with Native Class and Bind Companion, turned on, then used USBInjector to convert it to Tahoe friendly, then added the kext and did a PerformCleanSnapshot in propertree and saved it.

Update:

So I just removed WhateverGreen, and performed a CleanOCSnapshot within ProperTree.
I got further than before, then the screen output disappeared but the PC continued loading, and was clearly doing something, but no video output.

I am using -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 agdpmod=pikera as I have a RX 6800, should I remove agdpmod=pikera?

Update:

I got it to install, but only via HDMI? It posts in verbose on DisplayPort, then just as the Installer screen is about to show it goes no video output, but on HDMI it works?

After installing, once it restarts and continues the install, about half way through, it gets stuck on a reboot loop, mentioning creating a recovery partition?

This has bricked my upgrade from Sequoia.

I tried to do a clean install on a spare SSD, with the Sequoia drive unplugged, and I get the same reboot loop after the installer :(

According to the specifications page for your MSI motherboard you should have a maximum of 17 ports active in your USB configuration. The ports are as listed below.

AMD- Chipset​

  • 2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 (SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps) Type-A ports on the back panel
  • 4 x USB 2.0 (High-speed USB) ports (2 Type-A ports on the back panel, 2 ports available through the internal USB 2.0 connector)
  • 1 x Internal USB2.0 port served through the M.2 WiFi connector, used by the bluetooth module.

AMD - CPU​

  • 4x USB 3.1 Gen 1 (SuperSpeed USB) ports (2 Type-A ports on the back panel, 2 ports available through the internal USB 3.1 Gen 1 connector)
You don't have any USB2 physical ports listed/active in your setup above. There should be 2 x physical USB2 ports available on the rear I/O plate (black tang)

You would probably be better served using SSDT-EC-USBX-AMD.aml table in place of the other/similar named tables you have mentioned. Copy attached below.

For the initial macOS installation you don't need to add any other ACPI tables (SSDTs) for your B450 system.

Can you confirm whether my attached below USBMap looks ok, along with my EFI and the error log, if that's not too much hassle?
Any idea why after it goes through the install it ends up stuck on an eternal reboot loop claiming that it's making a restore partition?

Is there anything silly that I've enabed by mistake or should enable in my config.plist? I've attached it below.

I got it to get to the install splash screen, but as I say, it only outputs the install splash screen via HDMI? Rather strange, I've never had that before. The verbose output up until then is fine via DisplayPort though :(
