That is typical of samsung. Not surprised at all.
Even TVs these days display all the details of hdmi signal.
In any case, you got lucky with your display.
For me on my TV ,the difference is very clear. I guess i will have to stick with my mini. plus my hackintosh cannot run apps like...
That is strange. Any recent monitor will have an OSD (on screen display) feature that will show signal details that its receiving.
What is the monitor model and name?
The monitor will show the resolution, bit depth...etc.
The monitor will show all the details of the input signal it's receiving. There has to be some info button in settings.
This is how you confirm you are getting the right output.
No,
on my hackintosh i have ventura. I used a USB-C to HDMI 2.1 Adapter. The usb-c output was taken my TR ridge card. my 6800 XT is connected to the TR card via a DP 1.4 to mini DP cable. I never knew we could do this.
When i took the output from usb-c from my TR card on my ventura. i am...
Yes, i believe the AMD Drivers are not optimized like the M2 GPU drivers. This is evident from the fact that 6800 XT on windows gives a better or crisper image.
I guess the 6000 Series will be the last generation to be supported and that too poorly.
I wish apple would support both Nvidia and...
Hi All,
I have found a strange/weird observation and its been bothering me a lot.
I have a mini m2 and a hackintosh with AMD 6800 XT GPU.
I connected both to my TV for testing.
The mac mini m2 produces a very crisp output on the TV and it looks fantastic. I connected the m2 with usb-c to...
It doesn't say TB anywhere and is not TB certified. So no idea if it will even get detected in macOS. USB4 is not the same as TB4.
Besides there are TB4 cards out there, the Maple Ridge. So why even bother with USB4 cards.
Someone will have to try it and report.
I made the mistake of installing the card on x8/x16 slot.
Gigabyte clearly mentioned that the card has to be installed on x4 slot from the manual.
Once installed on the x4 slot. I got the correct ACPI path and creating the SSDT was easy after that.
I tested the speed using black magic and i...
I got some help on the discord and it turns out max speed you can get it around 14-20 Gbits/s. Which is correct because i tested the TB bridge between my mac mini and mac book pro.
This issue is resolved now and closed.
OK!
So i finally got the TR 2.0 Card and installed after having firmware flashed.
Setup the SSDT and added to EFI.
Got the thunderbolt birdge working.
Now the mac mini and hackpro are connected via thunderbolt bridge.
I have a Viper Nvme SSD. I Tested the speed of this on a NVME...
Hi,
Everytime i process an image using gigapixel AI using my 6800 XT, the system becomes jerky and unstable.
If i use my CPU , everything is smooth.
Anyone else have this issue.
GPU is hogging the CPU for some reason.
I m on Ventura 13.2
Thanks
Hi,
I have a mac mini and a hackintosh and i want to connect them via thunderbolt bridge to get 40GB/s. The hackintosh acts as my file server/Workstation. This basically acts like my storage server instead of getting a TB4 enclosure with limited storage capacity. currently i m using 10Gb/s...
