    Ryzen 7000 Testing

On my X670E Gene, whenever I set the i225-V speed to 2.5Gbps the system will immediately freeze. It will also freeze when the port is set to 1Gbps. But on 100Mbps it works fine. When I return from holiday, I'll check a few things including whether I have e1000=0 in boot-args.

    Asus X670E Gene EFI -- Adaptable to Other X670, X670E, B650 and B650E Boards

Some questions: Are you installing macOS Sonoma 14.2 as mentioned in your GitHub fork? I downloaded the EFI folder; some comments: Are you using the EFI Folder under Attempts -> 9? This one is for Asus X670E Gene Moreover, the settings inside your copy of the folder are incorrect Or the EFI...

    Asus X670E Gene EFI -- Adaptable to Other X670, X670E, B650 and B650E Boards

That's a good suggestion. I'm currently away from home for the holidays, but will do this when I return. Meanwhile, I'm also having problems with 2.5GbE on Sonoma only, which I wrote about here: https://forum.amd-osx.com/threads/ryzen-7000-testing.3318/page-144#post-32836

Because this system was transplanted from an Intel-based Hackintosh, and because the crash seems intermittent, I would suggest: Creating a new APFS Volume (using Disk Utility) in the same NVMe SSD as the main system OR on a different SSD if you have one Install fresh copy of macOS using the...

Good job putting together the OC configuration. First thought that comes to mind: Disable AmdTscSync.kext.

Because you're asking a very basic question, it may help to skim through the build procedure for Asus Z690 ProArt Creator at the link below. Even though that procedure is tailored for a different motherboard, it provides a good overview and covers many of the basics...

Is anyone experiencing system freezes in Sonoma 14.2 and 14.3 when all of the following conditions are true (Asus X670E Gene): Ethernet cable connected to on-board 2.5GbE (i225-V or i226-V) Port set to 2.5Gbps or 1Gbps speed It may be necessary to set speed manually if "Auto" is selecting...

Incidentally, we have another fellow struggling with an MSI motherboard here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/msi-z590-ace-i9-10900k-thunderbolt-4-maple-ridge-set-up-issues.321135/page-6 Maybe the same root issue in both cases even though one is Intel and the other is AMD...

Interesting -- your board's DSDT does not contain an Embedded Controller device (EC), which we would expect to see under PCI0.SBRG. But that does not matter because macOS does not use it anyway. We create a dummy EC device, which the SSDT is doing. It would be good to try these suggestions next:

My version of SSDT-EC did not work on your MSI board so I've reverted back to the previous one. Please post your DSDT.aml -- if you are running debug version of OpenCore then simply use the attached config.plist. After getting to OpenCore boot menu, there will be a Sys Report folder in the root...

I believe we no longer need either the SSDT or the kext. Latest versions of Monterey (and Ventura and Sonoma) should support i225-V natively.

We need to use the DEBUG build of OpenCore.efi. Download the DEBUG build from here. When you unzip the package, just locate OpenCore.efi from here: Rename your existing OpenCore.efi to something like OpenCore-RELEASE.efi, then copy this DEBUG version into the EFI partition (EFI/OC...

This is so true. It is all a “patch and workaround fest” — particularly AppleALC, which is the poster child for patchfestness.
