The 6600m does beat the m1 base. Compared to the top end macbook pro or base studio on Geekbench/ Metal the 32core is 66k while the 6600m on mac is 61k
I think Lenovo somehow fucked up with the Bios. The Asus G14 don't seem to suffer as much. Too bad I am not interested on 14 inch laptops, they are too small for my needs. Seems the Zbook is the best options of the big players with a Radeon 6600m, and tons of upgrade ability. The G8 tops out...
At this rate, I may just wait and get the Zbook with the new 12900HX which is the desktop Alder Lake and crammed down to 55 watts. Benchmarks show to perform just like the desktop. The new Fury G9 (Not released yet) will still have the Radeon pro 6600m as option.
Is possible I may have to...
Laptop and desktops certainly do not work the same as desktop at least for Ryzen. I have 3 Ryzen laptops, 2 with desktop grade CPUs, and the maker Quantas certainly had to modify things for mobile. Therefore more tweaking may be required for laptops that desktops to get them to work properly...
Wouldn’t that disable the 6600m, when there is no Mux, the only way the gpu connects to the Motherboard is via the igpu. Hence why the Legion 5 and the Asus G14 are unique. Now I am curious?
My results are from the Lenovo Legion 5 with the RX 6600M. Nope still have the one core limitation under Monterey. The Asus Zhephyrus g14 seem to not have that problem
Seems the g14 is the current best besides the Alienware Area 51, R2 with the RX 5700m, but are rare to find. The HP Zbook with the 11th gen CPU and the w6600m also is a good option and larger size screen if you want a larger form factor than 14 inches
