OK, I got to Monterey with Jo-Tuku's EFI, However I do not have touchpad and the bluetooth is not working, but the Wireless is. Going to work on the bluetooth right not.
It would not go past the ionvme without the nvmefix.kext on mine after the first reboot and when it starts extracting on the ssd. I believe it was because of the type of ssd's I am using. I have the nvme kext on all my other desktops that are running the same ssd (XPG Gammix) so that is...
OK, the nvmefix.kext got me into the installation and Big Sur Install successfully! As for the voodoo kexts. When I installed them and rebooted and reset nvram, it causes a kernal panic so I removed them for now. As for upgrading to Monterey, do we start the upgrade from the apple menu and use...
Thank you.... On another note.... the Big Sur USB installer seems to not like any of the back ports, it would not boot into the installer even, as soon as I stuck in in the right side USB, boots up to the installer. (Hoping to get past the first reboot now, will post my success or failure...
Is zxc2689963's post #98 still the route to go to install Big Sur first on the Legion 5 or is there a revised EFI? Or is there a way to install Monterey without installing Big Sur first? My Intel Wireless comes today along with 64GB ddr 3200 so I am going to attempt to get past the IONvme errors...
Agreed, I have a couple desktops with RX 570’s & 580’s & none have that acpi. So that must be motherboard specific or laptop issue maybe, but good to know in case I come across that.
Yeah I ordered an Intel ax210ngw wireless card… will be here Monday so hopefully that will solve the issue. If not I may switch to SN 750 SSDs… these xpg gammix blades were working on a couple of my other ryzentoshes so I assumed they should work with this, but since the legion is finicky it...
I still cannot get past installing 11.6.7, it hangs in different spots around ionvme, can anyone confirm they are using a Realtek wireless m.2? I believe that is the culprit. That or the fact I’m using 2 identical ssds maybe. (I am trying to install with efi started from on post #98
My install hangs at the section below when trying to install Big Sur 11.6.7. It will format the nvme ssd then after first reboot on the ssd it hangs here. I tried removing agdpmod=pikera (which is required for the 6600m to work in Monterey but since it is not supported in Big Sur I left it out...
OK, Advise Features was not checked and was missing the first 2 boot flags. (I grabbed the EFI from post #98 to start with). I also changed from the samsung to a couple XPG Gammix SSDS, since I know they work without any issues on several of my other Ryzen boxes to eliminate that variable.
My...
Mine freezes at ionvme… gunna swap out the Samsung ssd with Xpg tomorrow and try. Mine also don’t have Intel Wi-Fi, it has Realtek… don’t know if that could be causing any issues on my end but will attack it tomorrow.
