@Cransy It only works with USB Aura Controllers. Also the port needs to be mapped, you can check with Hackintool if it shows up there.
Some RGB controllers are connected to the SMBus instead and are not supported.
If there is a Beta 1 of a new macOS I want it :D
I don't have high hopes for this particular issue since it looks like a hackintosh only thing.
Apfelnico's guide for ACPI USB mapping mentions a fix for it, but his method is not directly applicable (AMD boards have the ports defined in the DSDT...
Hm, then ASRock might have changed how they wired up the ports? Because back till BIOS 2.80 it was connected to one of the first USB Controller: https://github.com/aluveitie/RyzenMacPro/blob/0a16da3abafa445e41fc23218cf85d4ef9237241/EFI/OC/Kexts/AMD-USB-Map-MacPro7,1.kext/Contents/Info.plist#L141...
@atanvarno Weird, USB functionality should not depend on the TB3 being enabled/disabled.
The port is connected to a USB controller and should be mapped as such.
At least it worked that way when I was using the board. I connected a USB-C display and USB+Video were working just fine with TB3...
Yep, that would be a long term goal. It is documented in the Linux Kernel how to read those stats. Would be doable on MacOS as well, just have to figure out how to properly do it.
If I remember correctly, the Thunderbolt controller was causing me issues with sleep. Since I didn’t use it at that time I left it deactivated in the BIOS.
The Strix was much smoother to get to sleep and wake up properly.
@elixir I’m on an ITX too, I switched to an USB-to-Ethernet dongle for good because I anyway upgraded my network to 5/10Gb/s Ethernet.
There are some options that work well with macOS.
OpenCL/OpenGL have been deprecated by Apple and drivers are not optimized for them anymore. You can expect their performance to be significantly below Metal.
Since Big Sur the OS root volume is sealed and boots from a snapshot for security reasons. To install the Kepler driver kexts into the OS you have to disable that security feature.
The thing is, the MacOS Installer will revert that each time a new update is installed. So every time there is a...
If you didn't already you can switch to Shaneee's Fix PAT patch, that fixes GPU performance issues on AMD Hacks.
You have to disable the second to last patch (Algreys Fix PAT) and enable the last (Shanee's) in turn.
