Are you trying to update an existing install or doing a fresh one? Is this natively installed or within a VM on your linux distro? If it's updating an existing install, just make a bootable usb installer, don't bother with updating it from within the OS, that often causes problems.

Ah ok, thanks mate :) So as I thought then, in my situation - waiting till a full release is out then installing it, I don't need to worry as the cores are already setup in my existing EFI, then I just update OpenCore and download all the latest patches. Thanks for confirming this :)

This might help people in general in regards to how to do a clean install or update, but obviously this success is due to my current hardware/EFI etc... If it's of any interest, everything is working as usual for me - I can't comment on icloud/imessage as I don't use any of that stuff...

Hi mate, if you want an easy cheap solution, a RX 570 4 or 8GB is a very cheap supported solution, or a RX 580 8GB, many on ebay :) That's what I started with, or a RX 6600 XT, 6700XT, 6800, 6800 XT, 6900 XT all work out of the box with just 1 thing added to your config :)

I don't see what the fuss is about this personally, my 5700X shows as a Xeon, but everything works and no-one sits with about this mac displayed permanently lol.

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure I'm not... You don't need to spoof the 6900XT what so ever? only the '50'XT cards like 6650XT/6750XT/6950XT? You just add agdpmod=pikera That's all I did on my RX 5700XT and RX 6800... And it 'just works', and is displayed correctly in about this mac.

You'll need NootRX.kext for a 6700 XT (look into it) and you may or may not need "agdpmod=pikera" in boot args.
