    Update from 14.3.1 to 14.4

I do. Granted, it's a build with Intel WiFi/Bt and I225V Ethernet which is unstable, so I disabled all of that prior to the restart and it still reboots pretty soon in the loading progress bar. No idea what is happening (file logs show nothing) and I pretty much gave up, spent way too much...

Display output difference compared to Mac Mini M2.

That's interesting, thanks for sharing. Not applicable to my hardware but good stuff. There is every chance that things will break somewhere. Which is why my main Hack with BCM94360NG card is still on Ventura and it unlikely to be upgraded. Another build is on Sonoma as testing ground and...

Display output difference compared to Mac Mini M2.

Is the macOS the same on both machines? Sonoma makes a huge difference. You mentioned USB-C to HDMI and also DP 1.4 thus it's not clear to me over which of those you got 120Hz 4K SDR. If this Hackintosh has Ventura, I doubt either of those two truly gave you 120 Hz 4K SDR. DP1.4 4K SDR goes...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

Thanks for clarification. I was wondering where that build was sourced but found the issue discussion and noticed the file. All clear now. It does not look good at all, going forward; from zxystd (emphasis mine):

    John's Asus X570 I Gaming EFI (Works on MOST Asus X570 & B550 Motherboards)

I am running OC 0.9.8 with macOS Sonoma 14.3.1. OpenCore itself is certainly not an issue. Most likely culprit — if anything is amiss — is WiFi drivers.

Native support for Intel I225-V on Sonoma

For whatever reason, native .dext driver in macOS Sonoma (currently on 14.3.1) won't work with I225-V on Asus ROG Strix B550I Gaming. I tried pretty much anything and it simply does not work. I'll keep checking in future Sonoma updates as it is likely some bug in the native driver itself; maybe...

Native support for Intel I225-V on Sonoma

I wrote in the first post I have removed SSDT, boot-arg and kext. Re-checked Device Properties to make sure nothing references Ethernet NIC. Regarding BIOS, I tried with IOMMU on/off and/or SVM Mode (CPU virtualization) on/off. No difference in behavior.

Native support for Intel I225-V on Sonoma

Mildly interesting: there's this oft-linked page explaining how to apply custom firmware to the I225. It includes a screenshot showing what is changed in the firmware so macOS can recognize it. I assume the non-green area is identical to original firmware they modified. I used the same...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

2.3.0 alpha from GitHub works fine in Sonoma. Which is why I asked what is that 14.4beta file supposed to be since it crashes that same macOS Sonoma.

Native support for Intel I225-V on Sonoma

    Here's one crash log, not sure how useful it is panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff80117dbecb): Invalid queue linkage: elt:0xffffff9043cd1610 {prev:0xffffff9043d3b370, next:0xffffff9043cca6d0, prev->next:0x3061323234363535, next->prev:0xffffff9043cd1610} @mpsc_queue.c:46 NULL bsd_info pointer Panicked...

Native support for Intel I225-V on Sonoma

Current Sonoma versions (I have 14.3.1) should support Intel I225-V Ethernet NIC out of the box. I have that working with MacAbe's SSDT + AppleIntelI210Ethernet_i225v.kext + e1000=0 boot-arg but would love to remove all that and use native .dext. (I prefer as simple EFI as possible) Thus I...

    Ryzen 7000 Testing

What is this supposed to be..? Only for 14.4 beta? I tried using it for Sonoma 14.3.1 but it crashes macOS on startup.

My Gigabyte B550I build is on 18c and I solved sleep issues with some custom SSDT. I looked into logs and figured out that these two devices were causing instant-wake. Thus try looking for something like this in logs kernel: (AppleACPIPlatform) AppleACPIPlatformPower Wake reason: GPP0 PT23...

Microphone working on AMD, with AppleALC.kext

The entirety of OpenCore and AMD hackintosh looks to be patch and workaround fest. At least to me. Thus I'm confused why would this one be considered different than the rest. I've been running it on 3 different builds, noticed 0 issues. It really does work great.
