Chose 2nd option (Install MacOSX (external))
Re-installed Big Sur (~10min left)

Same 3 options like before, this time let default (macInstaller)...
USB boots fine to BigSur installation. After installation, it reboots and gets the error above. I've done a number of installs, including Catalina upgrade to BigSur, but thisis the first time i've ran into this issue.
