HI, I´m Francisco from Spain. I´m delighted to telong to this community. Right now I have a Rizentosh with Catalina and I´m having trouble moving to Big Sur. My build:
Installed Operating Systems: Catalina 5.7 - Windows 10 Pro
CPU: Ryzen 9 5950X Motherboard: Asus strix E Gaming X570 Pro RAM: 32GB DDR4 3600Mhz
Graphics: Nvidia 1050 ( i´m waiting for a 6800XT)
NVMe: 980 EVO 1TB - 980 EVO
OpenCore 0.6.4

With this efi juanfdo4/hackintosh-AMD: hackintosh ASUS x570 3700x TX5700XT (github.com) i have done my Rizentosh Catalina 5.7 and it is Ok but when I decided to upgrade to Big Sur it impossible with this efi. I decided to try with efi of our companion AudioGod´s AudioGod's Gigabyte Aorus X570 Pro, 5900X, 5700 XT Perfect Big Sur Build | AMD OS X (amd-osx.com) but it does not work. Could you help me please?

Hi there, I dont see the point to upgrade to 11.1 based on your specs. You have a GTX 1050 which is not supported in any newer OS than 10.13. Even for 6800xt, there is no ETA for the support for MacOS. So I suggest just stay where you are or get a supported GPU.

ETA for Big Navi on MacOS is never my friend.
Why would they as they are finished with AMD and Intel and you can not integrate a discrete GPU with ARM.

The Mac Pro that people bought last year will need updated graphics cards.
currently Big Navi cards load the Framebuffer kext. Looking at Catalina where big navi support is found in snippets, BS has much more support. A few months and we should have Big Navi working.

Nope I’m sorry but it’s not gonna happen.
I work in the trade myself and I have spoken to many a engineer about this and it’s not coming out.
can I just point out that there was code in the OS for Ryzen CPUs at one point yet it never came to pass.
I don’t think they care about the people with MacPros buddy, Apple want your money not upgrade options...lol

By the way I really hope I’m wrong and would love nothing more then to slap a 6800xt in my system knowing it will work with Big Sur.

The Ryzen CPU code is for the APUs, which is for the graphics. This caused quite a stir last year. We found this in the Apple graphics kexts. The same thing happened with the 5000 series cards. We had to wait for the 6000.kext to include the device ID. It is already in the Framebuffer and HWServices kext which recently added it. The Framebuffer kext didn’t have Navi 21 in the first beta releases of Big Sur, now it is there along with the proper device IDs. It’s coming, a few weeks, next month, 3 months?

Fingers crossed then hey? 😂
it’s not in 11.2 beta so you can stretch the few weeks idea.
I still hold no hope tbh but let’s see what happens.

Dont you think if they were gonna do it they would of done it already?
with the 5000 series they waited until they released a product with it before the drivers went live. This time around there’s nothing in the pipeline coming out with a discrete GPU so again I ask why would they release the drivers now bearing in mind they don’t care about users and what Mac they own?
They want you to buy an Apple silicon Mac not uprade your old one. This is Apple we are talking about here buddy

The $30,000 Mac Pro can use these cards, Apple did say they were going for the modular approach for this system. The drivers are getting more features added slowly. Catalina didn't get 5700 series support until the 3rd release version 10.15.3? There is audio codec recognized but not working yet, and the Framebuffer.kext loads.

Il tell you what buddy, we will revisit this convo in a month or two when something has or hasn’t happened.
I get it, your desperate for it to work and don’t want to see it any other way but After having a very long convo with a Leo Wyndham (head of U.K. Apple Music) a few hours ago I’m even more convinced it’s not happening then I was before.
Also about the modular approach, you seen to keep forgetting your talking about Apple here and not a nice company that cares....lol
Anyway like I said time will tell and this convo will be revisited soon and I hope I’m proved very much wrong.

I had no idea 1050 is supported on Catalina.

It’s not supported. You have to use 10.13 for it to work, anything later is a Nono
