Hello Guys,

I got OSX working on the new Ryzen 3700x and chipset x570 thanks to this great site, I followed the Vanilla guide here: https://vanilla.amd-osx.com

Except I created the usb drive in OSX and used VirtualSMC.kext instead of FakeSMC.kext, FakeSMC kept causing kernel panics.

During the setup I skipped the network step because attempting to do it caused a kernel panic, this was probably because I was missing the lan adapter driver.

Here are my specs:

Motherboard: Aorus Elite x570
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x
Graphics: Radeon RX 480

Working:
- Ethernet: Had to use SmallTreeIntel82576.kext
- USB 3.0 Ports

Not Working:
- USB 2.0 Ports: Looks like there's patches that need to be applied to get this working, haven't tried anything yet, I got the base vanilla config right now
- Audio: same as above

Hopefully I can get the rest working, will update the post if I do.

Edit:
Geekbench Score: https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/13816192

Single-Core: 5655 Multi-Core: 36391

Edit: Added Lan Adapter Kext

Hell yeah, thank you for posting about this. My 3900X arrives tomorrow and I'll be giving the Vanilla Mojave method a go sometime in the next month or so!

Can you make GPU bechmark?
So I ran the CL benchmark in Geekbench, the result wasn't great: 41420
https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/compute/4270457

The weird thing is I can play League of Legends with no issues, Medium settings, 2560 x 1080, fps: 120 - 200

Also looking at the benchmark it says the Maximum Frequency is 300 MHz, I ran the same test in windows and it was running 3x that.

Not sure if there's anything that needs adjusting in OSX

I have the same problem. Low gpu performance in luxmark luxball benchmark. Its 3000 points on rx 580 , but it should be 15000 points . Three times more. I have installed osx on ryzen 7 1700 using old metod (amd kernel). Anyone maybe know how to solve this problem with low score in gpu benchmarks?

This is interesting, I just ran the benchmark using Luxmark Luxball and got 13607, which looks about right for an RX 480.

I also found other threads about people having similar issues:

No solves though, except enabling integrated graphics but that's not an option for me.

Hey @7mech,

Trying it with Ryzen 9 and AORUS Pro (has intel i211-at chipset).
I thought there was an issue with AppleIGB kext im using. I tried the smalltree one you mentioned but there seems to be multiple versions of it in circulation and the one I tried didn't enable the chipset so I could not do the installation (could not reach servers). Mind posting a link? The AppleIGB seems to be working and getting past that but for some reason my install gets stuck trying to download package com.apple.pkg.InstallESDDmg. That threw me off in the beginning thinking the chipset is not working right. The progress bar does not fill etc. The log does not show anything interesting apart from retrying to download that package over and over. Anyone have any ideas on that one?

Do you also mind posting the list of kexts you used?

EDIT 1: Got my hands on the system logs and it seems libboringssl is trying to be dynamically loaded by the installer. I'm assuming because the http url is being redirected to an https one. It gets stuck there and crashes the entire networking stack as its retrying to dlopen.

Thanks

Can you share a snap shot of your system PCI?
I want to know if OS X Mojave supporting pcie 4.0 hence the new Mac Pro is still with pcie 3.0...
